Weldon L. "Don" Dodson, 56, of Wister, passed away Monday, July 28, 2003, at Wister. He was born July 1, 1947 at Torrence, Calif. He was a maintenance manager and a Vietnam Army veteran. Don loved to fish, hunt, play bingo and spend time with his loving family.

He was preceded in death by his father, Weldon L. Dodson Sr.

Survivors include his wife Thresa of the home; one son, Dennis and wife Julie Dodson of Nashville, Ark.; daughters, Merideth and husband Todd Hadersbeck of Orange County, Calif., Penny Hawkes of Wister, LaDonna and husband Jeff Blakey of Fort Smith, Ark., and Angela and husband Bob Rogers of Wister; grandchildren, Paige and Pamela Reagan, Nicole Dodson, Lindsey Ramsey, Jeremy Mengell, Colton Reed, Blake Blakey, Karlee Brown, Andrew Hawkes, Blaine Rogers and Jaycee Rogers; his mother, Juanita Dodson of Heavener; one brother, Darrel Dodson of Pearson, Kan.; one sister, Jeraine Alvarado of Idaho; numerous other relatives, loved ones and friends.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 30 at the First Baptist Church of Wister with the Rev. Larry Free officiating. Burial will follow in Ellis Chapel Cemetery at Wister under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau.
