Alexander William Avery
02/08/1874 ~ 02/17/1955
born Alabama

Alex (pronounced Elick) was a farmer and rancher in Fair View Community. He owned 160 acres or more. They had a fine home that sat on a hill on the west side of "old highway" between Spiro and Panama. The house was located about 2 miles west of Spiro and about 1.75 miles south of Oklahoma Highway 9.

Julia (Hardaway) Avery
01/21/1888 ~ 05/31/1942

Julia's father was Jesse Hardaway and she grew up at the Edward's Store in Red Oak. She attended school at Nu Hope Academy in Skullyville, OK.  She was on the Choctaw Roll and was eligible for a section of land in Indian Territory.

She was known by those who were close to her as "Dolly". She met and married Alex and they had 8 children who all but three are buried at Fairview Cemetery. Dolly was well liked and was my grandmother.
