About 5 ft 11 inches tall, light complexion, blue eyes, weight
about 150 lbs, right arm off near the shoulder. Date of decease if known,
Mar 11, 1890, Navajoe, Texas.
Name of Suspected persons, George Gordon. Date of arrest of
suspected person, March 5, 1890. In what jail confined, Vernon, Wilbarger
Co., Texas. Date of Bail Bond, March 12, 1890. Amount of Bail Bond $5,000.00.
Residence of Suspect, and where suspect can be found, Navajoe, Texas.
Names of sureties on bail bond, blank.
A. L. Howard ws shot in a street in Navajoe by George Gordon. He
Gordon having shot him Howard four times either shot being necessarity fatal.
Having fully considered the evidence given in the foregoing and
named inquest it is the opinion of the court that the deceased A. L.
Howard came to his death by the infliction of a gunshot wound the same
being in the hands of George Gordon and inflicted by him George Gordon. E.
R. Fletcher, J. P. Precinct No. 1, Greer Co, Texas.
Date of Warrant, March 7, 1890. Returnable to J. P. Court, Prect, No. 1, Special term.
Article 1012: When an inquest has been held, the Justice before
whom the same was held shall certify to the proceedings, and shall enclose
in an envelope the testimony taken, the finding of the Justice, the Bail
Bond, if any, and all other papers connected with the inquest, and shall
seal up such envelope and deliver it, properly enclosed, to the Clerk of
the District Court without delay.

complected small dark moustache, dark hair.
Nature of information given J. P.: That it is one of three men
that passed Mr. Murphrees house on the evening before the killing and that
the men under arrest is one of the party.

described as being one of three men that were passing through the country
and on the Quanah road about a week previous.

Description- A Box House about 20 x 30 feet in dimensions. Box
where private paers were kept found & burning books and papers damaged.
Nature of information given J. P.- That the house was discovered
to be on fire and that when the parties arrived there that the box
containing the private papers of the county was pried open and saturated
with coal oil and the records of the county were placed on top of said box
and that they were on fire and that the shelves containing the blanks was
on fire and that the fire had burned a hole in the ??? of the house.
