Faye N. Woodson, 97, of Poteau, died Thursday in Oklahoma City.

Funeral services were held at 3 pm Saturday at First Methodist Church in Poteau with the Rev. James T. White officiating.

Burial followed at Oakland Cemetery in Poteau under the direction of Evans and Miller Funeral Home of Poteau.

She was a 1922 graduate of Texas College for Women with a degree in home economics. She married Dr. Earl M. Woodson on July 5, 1924, in Tulsa. She was the first home economics teacher in Poteau High School, teaching from 1922 to 1925.

Survivors include her husband, Earl; sons, Dr. Joe B. Woodson and Dr. Dan E. Woodson of Oklahoma City and District Judge Charles S. Woodson of Drumright; brother, H. Dale Scott of Corpus Christi, Texas; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
