A 26-year-old Sapulpa area man died early Sunday morning when his pickup truck traveling at a high rate of speed missed a curve and ran off a road near Kellyville. Kenneth Dale Wolf was pronounced dead at the scene from massive head and chest injuries, Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper Jim Doane said.

The trooper said Wolf's vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed when he approached a curve on west Teel near the Kellyville rodeo grounds. Doane said the vehicle may have been approaching speeds of 100 m.p.h. at the time of the crash. Wolf's pickup apparently failed to make the turn and traveled nearly 300 feet before hitting a tree, Doane said. Wolf was not wearing a seat belt. Doane said he intended to do further investigation in an attempt to determine the speed of the vehicle.
