HEALDTON -- Services for Doy Wise, 71, Wilson, will be at 2 pm Friday at Reser Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Ronnie Harris officiating. Interment will be at Bomar Point Cemetery.

Wise was born Dec 5, 1928, in Oilton, to James W. and Juanita Pence Wise. He died May 2, 2000, at his residence.

He attended Crooked Oak schools, enlisted in the Marine Corps at age 17 and later served with the Army in Korea with the 82nd Airborne Paratroopers. He received the Bronze Star. He attended college and worked in the oil business in Kansas, Texas and Oklahoma, then worked for JETCO Chemicals as district manager until he retired in 1987. He was a member of the Church of Latter-day Saints. He and Willa Etoile Teague were married June 9, 1950, in Hopkinsville, Ky. He was preceded in death by a sister, Lou Stedman.

Survivors include his wife, of the home; two daughters, Janice Erlandson, Silver Hill, Ala., and Kathy Meyer, Wichita, Kan.; a son, David, Sulphur; a sister, Jolene Hawkins, Portland, Ore.; nine grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.

Bearers will be R.B. Bearden, Dan, Phil, Zack and Bryan Meyer, Bradley and Travis Wise.

Memorials may be made to the Wilson Senior Citizens Center.
