Carl Tinker Whittaker, 81, of Sand Springs, died Thursday at Tulsa.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday at First Baptist Church in Mannford with Rev. James Beck and assisted by Rev. J. B. Shinn.

Burial will follow at Mannford Cemetery under the direction of Owen Funeral home.

He was born March 15, 1911, in Sleeper, Mo., to Ivan Merle and Fannie (Seaver) Whittaker. In 1932 he married Geneva (Beck) Whittaker in Logan. He was a graduate of Southeastern State College, Durant, and a retired teacher with the Tulsa Public School System, and an ordained minister of the Baptist Church. He was a member of the Oklahoma Education Association and National Education Association. He relocated to this area from Topeka, Kansas, in 1961, where he was vice-principal of Remington Elementary School.

Survivors include his wife, Geneva; sons, Don of Tulsa, Byron of Coweta and Phil of Houston, Texas; daughters, Karen Snyder of Topeka, Kan., and Carla Potter of Mannford; brother, Herschel Whittaker of Beaver; sister, Mary F. Crabtree, of Beaver; 15 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.

The family will headquarter at 16405 West 16th Street in Sand Springs.
