John Weins, 71, of Kellyville, died Monday at home.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2 pm Thursday at the Owen Funeral Chapel with Rev. Gary Staiger officiating.

Burial will follow in Kellyville Cemetery.

Casketbearers will be Wayne McGuire, Robert Brown, John Miller, Travis Weins and Ted Bunch.

Honorary casketbearers will be Noel Miller and Tommy Hobbs.

He was born in Kellyville on March 3, 1921, and married Wanda Blankenship on Feb. 12, 1949, in Tulsa. He was a member of the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II and retired from Flo-Bend where he worked 24 years as a beveller. He was a life member of the Disabled American veterans and an avid fisherman, hunter and gardener. He was also a member of the American Legion.

Survivors include wife Wanda; son John Ray Weins of Broken Arrow; daughter Janie Gregory of Kellyville; brother George Weins of Kellyville; sisters Almelda Sherre of Bristow and Elizabeth Whitaker of Sand Springs; and one grandchild.

The family will headquarter at the Weins home in Kellyville.
