One-Car Accident Claims Life of Sapulpa Man, 37

A Sapulpa man enroute to his lakeside trailer near Mannford was killed late Monday night when his car plunged down an embankment west of Sand Springs.

The victim was Hubert H. Troxell, 37, a life-long Sapulpan.

The Highway Patrol reported Troxell's car ran off Highway 51 west of Sand Springs, careened down a 40 foot embankment and rolled over twice, pinning him inside.

He attended Sapulpa schools and was married June 19, 1950 to Virginia Allen.

He was an employee of Frisco Railroad for 19 years and was a brakeman at the time of his death. He was a member and vice-chairman of the Brotherhood of Firemen and Railroad Trainmen.

Survivors are his wife, Virginia; two daughters, Deborah Lea and Deirdre Ann; a son, Hubert H., Jr. 'Skippy', all of the home, 524 S. Muskogee; his mother, Mrs. Mary R. Troxell, north of Sapulpa; three brothers, James, 109 W. Thompson; Pete, Talala; George, north of Sapulpa; four sisters, Mrs. Raymond Bullock, Tulsa; Mrs. Eva Adelblue, 209 W. McKinley, Mrs. Chester Haley, 112 E. Glenpool; Mrs. Bill Martin, Auburn, Calif.; and two half sisters, Mrs. Effie Lisenly, Republic, MO; Mrs. Laura Nichols, Jefferson City, MO.
