Owna M. Taber, 73, of Terlton, died Friday at Hillcrest Medical Center.

Funeral service is scheduled for 10 am Tuesday at the Fisher Pentecostal Assembly of God, west of Sand Springs, with he Reverend Bob Sullivan officiating.

Burial will follow at the Post Oak Cemetery under the direction of the Smith Funeral Home.

Taber was born March 6, 1918, in Branson, MO and lived in Terlton for the past three years moving there from Kellyville. She had worked for the Homer Box Factory in Sand Springs and had been a cook at several cafes in Sapulpa and Sand Springs.

She married Ervin Tabor, who preceded her in death, on Dec 1, 1973. Her daughter, Marcella Hitt, also preceded her in death November 1992. 

Survivors include daughters Darlene Lambert of Terlton, Pauline Grau of Sand Springs, Lola Hartaway of Tulsa, Carol Callhan of Campbell, Mo., and Julia Simpson of Sand Springs; sons, Donald and Douglas Taber, both of Terlton; sisters Isabell Hutchinson of Kellyville and Dorothy Hutchins of Muskogee; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

She is survived by sons Donald Taber and Douglas Taber, both of Terlton; daughters Darlene Lambert of Terlton, Pauline Gray and Julia Simpson, both of Sand Springs, Lola Hardaway of Tulsa, and Carol Callahan of Campbell, Mo.; sisters Isabell Hutchins of Kellyville, Dorothy Hutchins of Muskogee and Buena Pierce of California; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Casketbearers are to be Chuck Gray, Jimmy Park, Carl Lanham, Eddie King, Deon Anderson, Bill Hitt and Thomas Anderson.

Taber was preceded in death by her husband, Ervin, on Dec 1, 1973 and a daughter Marcella Hitt on Nov. 9, 1992.
