The funeral service for Richard Parker Staples, 71, who died Tuesday, will be at 2 pm Saturday, in the Depew Church of God, with Brother Quint Miller officiating. Burial will be in Oakdale Cemetery, under the direction of Hutchins-Maples Funeral Home, Bristow.

Staples, formerly of Depew, was a resident of Tuskahoma. He moved from Depew to Redwood, CA, and in 1975 became a resident of Tuskahoma. He is a retired steelworker; a member of Eastern Star Lodge No. 325, Talihina; a member of the Bristow Masonic Lodge No. 226; Deputy Grand Patron of the Order of Amaranth, White Shrine of Jeruselum, Rugged Cross No. 14; Rainbow Dad; Lt. (j.g.) of the Navy League Sea Cadet Commission; York Rite Past Commander No. 6 and the U.S. Navy Reserves.

Survivors include his wife, Gaynell, of the home; a son Richard Jr., Tuskahoma; a daughter, Shirley Jean DeMartini, Tuskahoma; two brothers, Frank T. Staples, South San Francisco, CA and Billy Joe Staples, Tulsa; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
