William R. (Bill) Simmons, 70, 233 W. Mary Lynn, died Wednesday at Saint Francis Hospital.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30 am Saturday at Smith Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Troy Hayes officiating.

Burial will follow at Green Hills Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Simmons was born Aug 17, 1920, in Morris. He was a Sapulpa resident for 40 years, and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He married Wanda Rush March 23, 1953.

Mr. Simmons retired from Ironworkers Local 584. He was a Baptist.

Survivors include wife, Wanda; daughters Reta Simmons of Sapulpa and Cheri Due of Tulsa; brother James Simmons of Shelton, Wash.; sister Edna Barge of Unitialla, Ore.; and two grandchildren.
