Herbert Lee Pope, 75, Big Spring, Texas, died Wednesday at the veteran's hospital in Big Spring.

Services will be 2 pm Monday at Owen Funeral Chapel.

Burial will follow at Green Hill Memorial Gardens.

Casket bearers will be Mike Pope, Jimmy Pope, B.J. Pope, Tommy Pope, Joe Jordan and Johnny Davis.

He was born March 25, 1915, in Kiefer. He married Elece Long in 1940 in Grand Falls, Texas.

Mr. Pope was a U.S. Air Force veteran of World War II. He retired from Tennaco Oil Co., as a superintendent in 1960.

He lived in Big Spring since 1979, moving there from Midland, Texas. He was a member of the Elks Lodge, Big Spring VFW and former commander of District 25 VFW. He also was a Baptist.

Survivors include wife Elece; brothers Bernard Pope of Adair, Guy Pope of Odessa, Texas, and Glen Pope of Jenks; and sisters Mary Jane Antrikin of Clinton, Iowa, and Martha Davis of Sapulpa.

The family will headquarter at the Martha Davis home of Sapulpa.
