Enos R. Pickett, Creek county undersheriff, passed away Sunday night at 7:40 at his home 813 East Dewey avenue. He became ill early Saturday morning.

At his bedside were his wife, Mrs. Lynia B. Pickett, and his three daughters, Mrs. Wayne Harber, Mrs. Thomas M. Campbell and Mrs. Maurice E. Bettinger, jr.

For many years active in civic affairs Mr. Pickett was a member of the First Christian church, Elks, Masons, Chamber of Commerce, the War Dads and at the time of his death, was secretary of the Sapulpa Pioneers Club.

Son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Pickett of Sapulpa, Under-Sheriff Pickett was born in Adams County, Ia., on a farm near Corning.

He attended Corning public schools and later the Capital City Commercial college in Des Moines. In February 1906 he was married to the former Lynia Baker at Sedalia, Mo.

He was county treasurer of Creek county during World War One, serving in that capacity for eight years. Afterwards he was associated in the oil business with the Roland Oil company of Bristow before becoming undersheriff.

Survivors besides the widow and three daughters are three brothers; H. D. Pickett and Charles Pickett, both of Las Cruces, N.M., and O. B. Pickett, of this city, and three sisters, Mrs. Charles Chappell of Sedalia, Mo., Mrs. Emry Jennings, Oklahoma City and Mrs. Esther Smith, San Francisco. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

The body will lie in state from 3 o'clock this afternoon until 9 o'clock tonight at the Landrith funeral home.

Funeral services will be held at 10 o'clock tomorrow morning at First Christian church with the pastor, Rev. Rolla Grimm, officiating, assisted by Rev. Clifford B. James of West Tulsa, formerly pastor here.
