Rodney DeWayne Matney, 17, 816 N. 10th, Sapulpa, died Wednesday in Kellyville.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30 am Saturday at First Baptist Church in Kellyville with Rev. Rick Bateman officiating.

Burial will follow at Green Hills Memorial Gardens in Sapulpa under the direction of Smith Funeral Home.

He was born Dec 8, 1975, in Sapulpa. A lifelong Sapulpa resident, he was a sophomore at Charles Page High School in Sand Springs where he enjoyed carpentry. He was a member of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his father and step-mother, Buddy and Linda Matney of Sapulpa; mother and step-father, Sherry and H. Dean Hopkins of Ruston, La.; brothers, Buddy Matney, Jr., and Travis Matney, both of Ruston, La.; grandparents, Preston and Vivian Ashley of Kellyville; step- (obit ended here)

Funeral services for Rodney DeWayne Matney were held Saturday at First Baptist Church, Kellyville, with the Rev. Rick Bateman officiating.

Burial followed at Green Hills Memorial Gardens.

Casketbearers were Jim Ament, Eddie Taylor, Charles Kellogg, Robert Fountain, Gene Jones, David Ament and Albert Hayworth.

Honorary bearers were Michael Ray Matney and Jerry Wayne Matney.

Matney, a lifelong area resident and a student at Charles Page High School, died Wednesday in Kellyville.
