Ernest Elmer King, 67, of Sapulpa, died Thursday in Sapulpa.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2 pm, Monday, at Church of God, at 423 N. Ross, with Rev. Jeff Canler and Rev. Bill Riley officiating.

Burial will follow at Green Hills Memorial Gardens under the direction of Owen Funeral Home.

He was born Aug. 23, 1925, in Oakland, AR, to James Luther and Betty Nelson King. Mr. King retired from the Oklahoma State Highway Department. He married Virginia Barnes on May 19, 1949. A Sapulpa resident since 1935, moving from Arkansas, he attended the Baptist church and was as avid fisherman and hunter.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia; daughters, Donna Dewey of Anaheim, CA and Peggy King of Sapulpa; brothers Frank King, Roy King, John King, all of Sapulpa; sisters, Leatha Nickles of Chickasha, Maggie Hynes and Bonnie West, all of Sapulpa; and three grandchildren.

The family will headquarter at 1425 N. Main.

Casketbearers will be Clayton Duvall, Fred Smith, Cotton Lawson, Roy Little, Carl Little and Melvin Little.

Honorary bearers will be Robert Mangrum and Jack Little.
