James Leon Ivey, 76, of Route 1, died Monday at Bartlett Memorial Medical Center.

Services are pending with Smith Funeral Home.

Mr. Ivey was born Nov 17, 1913, in Denton, Texas.  He moved to the Sapulpa area from Seminole 50 years ago.

He was a 25 year employee of the Oklahoma Natural Gas Co. and a member of the Seminole Nazarene Church.

Mr. Ivey’s first wife, Julia, preceded him in death in 1971. He married his wife, Olive, in 1975.

Survivors include wife, Olive; daughters Judy LUCAS of Sapulpa and Alma HANKINS of Ardmore, step-children Regina PRITCHARD of Tulsa, Lillian DODSON of Claremore, J. D. BROWN of Tulsa, Harold Brown of Claremore and Leon Brown of Marietta; sisters Mildred WRIGHT of Modesto, CA, Nita STRAYHAM of Isuau, CA, Margaret COLLINS of CA, Jean KEENER of Lompoki, CA, Evelyn of Idaho, and Velma ANSON of Seminole; brothers Robert Ivey and Bill Ivey, both of Modesto,  Fred Ivey of Utah, and Ray Ivey of Rambo Carduca, CA; four grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren and one great-grandchild; and seven step-great-grandchildren.

Services will be 2 pm Thursday at Smith Funeral Chapel with the Revs. Everett Kieffer and  Dale Crowe.

Burial will be at Green Hill Memorial Gardens.

Casket bearers will be Sam Watkins, Bill Gilbert, Ronnie Hinesley, Ralph Anderson, Clint Churchill and Harold McDonald.
