Norman Ernest Hunter, 74, 1505 New Sapulpa Road, died today at St. John's Medical Center, Tulsa.

Services will be 2 pm Saturday at Owen Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Kermit Gail Frank officiating.

Burial will be in Okmulgee Cemetery.

Mr. Hunter was a veteran of World War II. He worked for the Department of Public Safety and the Oklahoma Bureau of Investigation, where he was promoted to inspector in 1959.

From 1959-60, Mr. Hunter was assistant warden at the state penitentiary in McAlester. He was assistant commissioner of public safety from 1960-63.

Mr. Hunter was chief enforcement officer with the A.B.C. Board until 1970, when he retired due to ill health.

Survivors include sons Norman D. Hunter and Fred W. Hunter, both of Sapulpa; brother Charles of Denver; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
