Kenneth Hughes, 80, of Sapulpa died Monday.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10 am Thursday at Episcopal Church of the Good Shepard with Rev. DeWitt Boyce officiating.

Burial is scheduled to follow at Green Hills Memorial Gardens under the direction of Smith Funeral Home.

Hughes was born April 23, 1912 in Moore. A Sapulpa resident, he served as a district judge for 28 years before his retirement. He was a former United States and County Attorney, a member of the Oklahoma Bar Association, a member of the Creek County Bar Association, past president of the State Judge's Association and an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Sapulpa Rotary Club, Elks Lodge, and the American Legion.

Hughes was also a graduate of Sapulpa High School, Oklahoma University and the Oklahoma University Law School. He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise in 1979.

Survivors include sons, Carl of Oklahoma City and Tom of Dallas; and three grandchildren.

Funeral services for Judge Kenneth G. Hughes were held this morning at 10 a.m. in the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepard with the Rev. J. DeWitt Boyce officiating.

Burial followed at Green Hills Memorial Gardens under the direction of Smith Funeral Home.

Serving as casket bearers were Ted Fisher, Kirk Naifeh, Streeter Speakman, Les Henderson, Bill Berry, T.J. Kennedy, Dr. Walter Cale and Dr. Bruce Darrow.

Honorary casket bearers were Marcus Horn, Monrow Naifeh, Milford Davis and Gene Hellard.

Judge Hughes died Monday at the Bartlett Memorial Medical Center.
