Delford W. Hicks, 83, Tulsa, died Saturday at Hillcrest Medical Center.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2 pm Tuesday at Owen Funeral Chapel with the Revs. Fred Redfearn and Reece Murry officiating.

Committal is scheduled for 4 pm in the Mount Zion Cemetery near Hulbert.

Mr. Hicks was born Feb 19, 1908, in Luta, Mo. and lived in the Tulsa area for 52 years. He was a member of the Welcome Home Freewill Baptist Church in Oakhurst. He married Lillie Adams on March 14, 1948, in Tahlequah. Hicks served in the U.S. Army during World War II, was a farmer and a retired construction worker. He was a member of the American Legion.

Survivors include wife Lillie; sons J.T. Hicks of Stillwater, James Arthur Hicks of Bristow; sister Effie Bird of Hulbert; brothers Millard Hicks and Oscar Hicks of Tulsa; and six grandchildren.

The family will headquarter at the Hicks residence.
