Mrs. Odie E. Hayden (Murphy), 85, Sapulpa, died Saturday at Pleasant Manor Nursing Home.

Services will be 10:30 am Tuesday at Smith Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Joe C. Knowles officiating.

Burial will be at Green Hills Memorial Gardens.

She was born Dec 30, 1901, in Valeda, Kan., and lived in Sapulpa 49 years.

She worked as a deputy county clerk for 17 years as well as serving as assistant librarian. Mrs. Hayden was the instigator of the summer story telling program for children at the library.

Mrs. Hayden was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Scott City, KS, and received her 50 year pen in 1976. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and Business and Professional Women's Club. She also was a past president of BPW.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Ray Harold and Robert Roland.

Survivors include son Warner of Oklahoma City; daughter Donnadee Baxter of Sapulpa; eight grandchildren; and 25 great grandchildren.
