The Rev. Thomas Hale Jr., 85, of Sapulpa, died at his home Friday.

Services will be 1 pm Saturday at Mount Olive Baptist Church, 130 W. Gray, with the Rev. T. Oscar Chapelle delivering the eulogy and Pastor H. T. Busby delivering the sermon.

Burial will be at Red Bird with arrangements by Jack's Memory Chapel.

The Rev. Hale pastored churches in Claremore, Sand Springs and Sapulpa. His longest pastorate was at Calvary Baptist Church in Sapulpa where he served for 13 years before retiring. Under his pastorate, a new church building was erected there.

He came out of retirement in 1981 to join the Mount Olive Baptist Church and assist Pastor Busby. He served there until his illness.

The Rev. Hale was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, a daughter and son.

Survivors include daughters, Sandra JOHNSON of Glenpool, Carrijean Edwina Hale of San Francisco, Deborah DAVIS of Kansas, and Esther CHERELLE of Sapulpa; sons Thomas J. Hale III and John Fitzgerald Hale, both of Tulsa, Lloyd Hale of San Diego, George Hale of Chicago and T. J. Humphrey of Tulsa; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The family will headquarter at 227 N. Burnett.
