BEGGS, Okla. - Mr. Samuel Alden “Al” Gaskins, 64, of Beggs died Sunday at St. John Medical Center, Tulsa.

Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday at Slick Baptist Church with the Rev. Derrick Carney officiating.

Burial will be in Bristow City Cemetery under the direction of Spivey Funeral Home, Beggs.

Mr. Gaskins’ nephews will serve as casket bearers.

He was born May 24, 1925, on the Sac & Fox Agency, south of Stroud, and married Vivian Russell Oct. 16, 1950, in Cooledge, Ariz.

Mr. Gaskins was a retired oilfield worker and a member of the Baptist Faith and Mended Hearts.

Survivors include wife Vivian Gaskins; mother Virgie Gaskins of Slick; son Marvin Gaskins of Beggs; step-daughters Sandra Kimmel of Oklahoma City and Leona Johnson of Indianapolis, Ind.; brothers tom and Bill Gaskins of Nebraska, Jack Gaskins of Bristow, and Wendell, Glendel and Jerry, all of Slick; sister Patsy Wessel of Oilton; and five grandchildren.
