FRANKLIN FITZGERALD

Franklin Bradford Fitzgerald, 71, of Oklahoma City, died Saturday in Oklahoma City.

Wake services are scheduled for 7 pm today, at Colonial Chapel South. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 am Tuesday, at the St. James Catholic Church with Father John McMenamin, O.S.S.S., officiating.

Burial will follow at West Haven Mausoleum at West Haven Memory Gardens in Oklahoma City under the direction of Vondel L. Smith and Son Mortuary of Oklahoma City.

Fitzgerald attended Sapulpa schools including Sapulpa Junior College. He served with the 141st Army Airways Communications System Squadron before his discharge on Feb 17, 1946. After the service he attended Tulsa University and graduated from Colorado State College. On Sep 2, 1947, he married Jane Elizabeth Neck and moved to Tulsa where he worked as an air traffic controller. He then joined the FAA and moved to Oklahoma City. He attended Oklahoma City University where he graduated with high honors receiving an MBA. He retired in 1978 as supervisor from Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center.

Fitzgerald was preceded in death by his wife, Betty.

Survivors include sons, Bradford of Woodbury, Minn., Patrock of Canton, Mich., timothy of Plano, Texas; daughters, Kathleen Dutton of Oklahoma City, and Larraine Fitzgerald Carlton of Oklahoma city; sisters Vivian Fitzgerald and Katherine Bristow of Sapulpa. Margaret Eslick of Moore; and eight grandchildren.
