GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. — Mr. Gaylord H. Ellis, 94, Grand Junction, Colo., died Sunday at Grand Junction after a lengthy illness.

Private cremation services were held under the direction of Martin Mortuary, Grand Junction.

Mr. Ellis was born Dec 16, 1892, in Madrid, Neb. He was a prominent Tulsa builder from 1921 to 1941. His projects included the Tulsa Stockyards, Holland Hall and Numerous Tulsa homes.

He moved to Colorado in 1941 and owned two lodges in Grand Mesa, Colo.

Survivors include wife Mary; daughter Jerry Calloway of Arlington, Texas; son California State Sen. Jim Ellis of San Diego; step-son Fred Peck of Gunnison, Colo.; sister Gladys Wright of Sapulpa; brothers Rupart of Riverton, Wyo., and Kenneth of Stillwell, Okla.; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
