GUNSHOT WOUND FATAL TO WOMAN

Sapulpa Police say a woman died at her residence Saturday from an apparently self-inflicted gunshot wound.

A report indicated officers were dispatched to 518 N. Moccasin Place about 4 pm and found a body of Verma Marie Dobson, 69, in her bedroom with a gunshot wound to the head.

Dobson's stepfather, Cleo Barnes, 80, told police he heard a gunshot and found Dobson's body.

Barnes told officers Dobson had been in failing health for a number of years and had made "numerous" references to committing suicide recently, according to the report.
