H. F. DeLOZIER IS TAKEN BY DEATH.

FUNERAL RITES FOR PIONEER OF SAPULPA TO BE CONDUCTED WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON.

Henry F. DeLozier, pioneer Sapulpan. Living at 215 South Maple, died suddenly yesterday just before Noon. Death was due to a heart attack which occurred about 10:30 while he was alone at home. He managed to get to the phone and call his grandson, George Henry DeLozier, who hurried to the home.

A physician was called as was an ambulance to take him to the hospital. Death occurred just as they entered the hospital and before he could be placed under an oxygen tent.

Mr. DeLozier was 80 years old last January. He is survived by two daughters-in-laws and five grandchildren, three brothers, Frank at Chelsea, Wes at Gerster, Mo. and Robert at Wabelene, Mo.; two sisters, Mrs. Maggie Hawkins and Lucy DeLozier, both of Wabelene.

Mr. DeLozier was born in Sinclair County, Mo. There he married Mrs. DeLozier, who died last January shortly after celebrating their 61st wedding anniversary. They had two son, Bert, who met his death in an automobile accident in Texas in 1921, and Matt, who was killed by the accidental discharge of his pistol in 1935 while he was serving as probation officer for the federal court at Tulsa.

It was away back in 1898 that H. F. Delozier first came to Sapulpa as livestock agent for the Frisco railroad. In 1902 he brought his family to Sapulpa, a place hardly large enough to be called a village. Previous to leaving Missouri he had served as sheriff. He continued with the Frisco until he reached the retirement age of 70 years. He served one term as city commissioner in Sapulpa.

Since the death of his wife, his daughter-in-law, Mrs. Maude DeLozier, has kept the home for him on South Maple.

Funeral services will be held at the First Baptist church, of which he had long been a member. The pastor, Dr. P. J. Conkwright, who was vacationing in San Antonio, was called and will have charge of the services. Burial will be in South Heights Cemetery with the Harrison funeral home in charge.

Pall bearers at the funeral will be W. B. Key, Arthur Lawrence, Charlie Foster, W. J. Miller, Ray Weakley and John Young. Honorary pall bearers will be Eugene Smith, M. C. Mallory, Harry Knisely, Roy Wildman, Charley Miller and Waldo Huycke.
