BRISTOW - Lula Bruner Combs, 75, of Bristow died Tuesday in Bristow.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11 am Friday at Mt. Olive Baptist in Sapulpa with Rev. Ernest Kelham and Rev. Henry T. Busby officiating.

Burial will follow at North Heights Cemetery in Sapulpa under the direction of Schumacher Funeral Home of Bristow.

She was born June 22, 1918, in Kansas City, Mo. A resident of Bristow, Slick and Sapulpa area since 1947, she married Ben Hess Combs in June 1962. Combs was employed with the State of Oklahoma for 20 years. She was an attendant at Hissom School for 15 years and also worked at Lee's Hickory Barbecue in Sapulpa. Combs was a member of Rogers Chapel in Slick.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Tommie Boyd, John Boyd, and Manuel Boyd; and four sisters, Maude Bryant, Lovie Edwards, Georgia Robinson and Reba Willard.

Survivors include her husband, Ben; sons, Wilber D. Bruner of Kansas City, Kan., Miles Henry Bruner of Sapulpa, Lewis Bruner of Bristow, and Willis Bruner of Sapulpa; daughters, Robbie Stephens of Sapulpa; brother, Frank Boyd of Gary, Ind.; 33 grandchildren and 51 great-grandchildren.
