James Floyd "Trader Jim" Collins, 73, of Kellyville, died Monday.

Graveside services are to be held at 11 am Thursday in the Box Cemetery in Vian under the direction of Butler-Stumpff Funeral Home.

Collins was a retired mechanic and was born July 13, 1920 to Phillip and Tilda Collins. He was raised in Vian and attended schools in Box and Hominy and joined the Army in January 1943, where he was in four major combats. He received the Purple Heart for service during World War II. He married Alice McColpin on June 4, 1959 and worked at Wilkerson Chevrolet for 16 years as both a mechanic and auto body technician. He also enjoyed trading items and tinkering with engines.

He is survived by wife Alice M. Collins of Kellyville; sons Arthur McColpin and Jimmy Collins, both of Tulsa; daughter Sue Vandegrift of Houston, Texas; 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
