Juanita Cheevers, 72, Stroud, died Wednesday at Edmond Memorial Hospital,

Services have been set for 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Parks Brothers Chapel, Stroud, with the Rev. Afton Gilley officiating. Burial will be at the Stroud Cemetery.

Cheevers had lived in Stroud most of her life and was the past president of the American Legion Auxiliary. She was past Noble Grand and District Deputy of the Rebekah Lodge.

She was a S.H.N.A. historian, member Stroud High School Alumni Association, and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

She is survived by sons John Thompson, Stroud, Jim Thompson, Shawnee; a daughter Ruby Jo Willis, Oklahoma City; brothers, Elzie Rutherford, Twenty-Nine Palms, Calif., Vernon Rutherford, Stroud, and George Rutherford, Tecumseh, a sister, Madia Sontag, Sapulpa; 11 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

The casket will be closed at the service. Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
