Virginia A. Burgess, 59, died Wednesday, Jan. 11, 1995 in Tulsa.

Services will be 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Mounds First Baptist Church with the Revs. Virgil Calvert and Dick Knox officiating. Burial will be in Mounds Cemetery, directed by Leonard and Marker Funeral Home of Bixby.

She was born May 27, 1935 in Slick to Elbert and Ira Margie Geraldon Courtney. She married Don Burgess on May 21, 1953 in Mounds.

Survivors include her husband, Don, of the home; four daughters, Nancy Elizabeth Thomas and Teresa Ann Whipple, both of Sapulpa, Jannie Janice DeWees, Baldwinsville, New York, and Deborah Pauline McGuire, Tulsa; a son, Dana E. Burgess, Sapulpa; two sisters, Joyce Alvis, Wewoka, and Zaira Courtney, Albuquerque, New Mexico; a brother, Frederick Jackson Courtney, Beggs; and 13 grandchildren.

Casket bearers include her grandsons.
