Former Beggs resident Thomas Houston "Tom" Bruton, 83, died Monday at Ranch Terrace Nursing Home.

Services are scheduled for 2 pm Thursday at the Apostolic Church in Beggs with the Revs. H. G. Eveans and Leroy Sewell officiating.

Burial will be at Beggs City Cemetery under the direction of Spivey Funeral Home. In Beggs.

Mr. Bruton was born Dec 22, 1905, in Mulberry, Ark., moved to Oklahoma as a child and lived in the Beggs area most of his life. He married Maggie Kelly, May 30, 1926, in Creek County and worked in local oil fields.

He was preceded in death by wife Maggie and son Ronald Bruton in 1980.

Survivors include sons Frank Bruton, Delmer Bruton and Willie Bruton, all of Sapulpa, Vernon Bruton of Tulsa and Jerry Bruton of Kellyville; daughters Faye Woods of Talihina, Okla., Irene Gurney of Kellyville, Dora Mae Taylor of Beggs, Yvonne Stringfellow of Sand Springs and Evelyn Bruton of Tulsa; brothers Jess Bruton of Kansas, Jack Bruton of Sapulpa and Olen Bruton of California; sister Lena Hughs of California; 40 grandchildren, 72 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
