MYRTLE BROWN

Myrtle Stevens Brown, 99, Rt. 2, Mounds, died Monday in Tulsa.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m., Thursday, at Mounds Christian Church with Rev. L. O. McNabb officiating.

Burial will follow at Mounds Cemetery under the direction of Owen Funeral Home.

She was born Dec. 9, 1892, in Mounds, Indian Territory, to Marion C. and Idella May (Berryhill) Stevens. She married John Lee Brown on Feb. 28, 1912, in Mounds. He preceded her in death in 1977. She retired from Spartan Aircraft in 1967. She was a member of Mounds Christian Church and Mounds Cemetery Association. She enjoyed gardening and cooking. Mrs. Brown was the oldest surviving pioneer woman in Mounds.

Survivors include her daughter, Beryl Barton of Mounds; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Myrtle Stevens Brown, 99, of Mounds, were held at 2 p.m., today at Mounds Christian Church in Mounds with L. O. McNabb officiating.

Burial followed at Mounds Cemetery in Mounds under the direction of Owen Funeral Home.

Casket bearers were Jim Greer, Ralph Greer, LeRoy Greer, Kenneth Greer, Clifford Patrick and David Cowan.

Mrs. Brown was the oldest surviving Pioneer woman in Mounds.

The family is headquartering at Route 2, Box 80, in Mounds.
