BILLINGS, Morris Lee (Sonnie) - Age 76, of Drain, Oregon, passed away Wednesday, July 11, 2001. 

He was born April 30, 1925 in Bristow, Oklahoma to parents, Sid and Martha Jane (Darden) Billings. On August 10, 1946 he married Betty Jane Spencer in Drain. He served in the 13th Airborne Division of the U.S. Army from 1943 to 1946. He began logging in 1947 and started working in the Woolley Plywood Mill in Drain where he worked for 28 years and was a mill foreman. He loved to sing, play the guitar, fishing, remembering with old friends, and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

He is survived by his wife, Betty Jane Billings of Drain, a son, Terry Billings of Drain, two daughters, Kitty Simonsen of Creswell, Oregon, Shirley Kemmer of Cottage Grove, Oregon, nine grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by a son, David Keith Billings in 1995, two sisters, Martha Satterfield in 1998, and Joyce Cheney in 1998.

Memorial service will be Monday, July 16, 2001 at 1:00 pm at Smith-Lund-Mills Funeral Chapel in Cottage Grove.
