A Shawnee man died early today in a head-on collision on U. S. Highway 177 in Pottawatomie County, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol said.

The patrol said Christopher L. Beggs, 23, died when his pickup truck collided with a tractor-trailer rig about 3:30 am.
