Viola Beard, 59, died Jan. 25, 1995 at Kaiser Hospital, Los Angeles, after a brief illness.

Services were held Jan. 30 in the J.S. Williams-Albert L. Cooper Mortuary Chapel, Los Angeles.

She was born July 28, 1935 at Edna to Willie and Florence Gaines Beard.

Survivors include her mother, Florence Embry; step-father, Robert Embry, both of Sapulpa; brothers, Alvin Guess and Lowell Guess, both of Sapulpa, Floyd Guess, Los Angeles, CA, and Kenneth Shaw, Pittsburg, CA; a sister, Alice M. Jones, Sapulpa; a granddaughter and a great-granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by a son, Melvin and daughter, Sharon.
