Thelma Ruby (Berryhill) Baughn, 94, of Carmi, died Tuesday, June 23, 2009, at Wabash Christian Retirement Center in Carmi. She was born June 12, 1915, in Kiefer, Okla., the daughter of Dessie (Jones) and Carl Cameron Berryhill. On April 1, 1938, she married Harold Edward Baughn in Okmulgee, Okla. Mrs. Baughn was the salutatorian of the Class of 1932 in Beggs, Okla. She was a homemaker and had worked at the Crossville Telephone Company in Crossville and Ainsbrook Garment Factory in Carmi. She attended the World Harvest Christian Center in Carmi.

Survivors include her four children and their spouses, Ruby and husband Pete Timmons of Mt. Vernon, Cameron and wife Patti Baughn of Lake Zurich, Betty and husband Tom Gholson of Crossville and Tom and wife Carole Baughn of Madisonville, Ky.; one sister, Virginia Peck of Sapulpa, Okla.; seven grandchildren, Lynette and husband Jack Tanner of Bonnie, Sheila and husband Gary Ison of Racine, Wis., Tina and husband Dr. George Barac of!
St. Charles, Dr. Travis Gholson of Norris City, Tracy Gholson of Crossville, Stephanie and husband Westin Worsham of Hopkinsvile, Ky., and Michele and husband Stuart Taylor of Winter Park, Fla.; four step-grandchildren, Dwight and wife Cindy Timmons of Mt. Vernon, Randy and wife Brenda Timmons of Scheller, Mark and wife Bobbie Jo Timmons of Springfield and Stacey and husband Rick Weatherford of Woodlawn; four great-grandchildren, Joshua Stein of West Allis Wis., Blair and husband John Lowery of Woodlawn, Christopher Stein of Milwaukee, Wis., and Daniel Barac of St. Charles; four great-great-grandchildren, Joshua, Haley and Brandon Stein and Gracie Lowery; 15 step great-grandchildren, Justin and wife Emily, Benjamin, Kyle, Nathan, Brooke, and Nicholas Timmons, Carl, Lucas and Hannah Weatherford, Ashleigh Clark, Brittney, Jason, Chase, Cole, and Breanna Timmons; two nieces, Nancy McCullough and Dessa Hammontree and their families of Sapulpa, Okla.; and three nephews, Phillip and Dorrie Peck and family of the Washington, D.C. area, Andy and Trinh and son V.P. and family of Norcorss, Ga., Rick and wife Julie Barnes and children Jon and Joe, and Tim Barnes of Sapulpa, Okla.She is preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Dessie Berryhill; sister, Mildred Copeland; great-grandson, Matthew Mannen; and step great-granddaughter Kristen Timmons.Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Cook Funeral Chapel in Carmi.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral chapel. Burial will be in Stokes Chapel Cemetery near Crossville. Memorials may be made to Wabash Christian Retirement Center and will be accepted at Cook Funeral Chapel in Carmi.
