Funeral services for Rev. T. Howard Allen were scheduled for 2 pm today at the First Baptist Church of Sapulpa with Rev. David Houchin and Rev. Vernon Howard officiating.

Burial was to follow in the Green Hills Memorial Gardens under the direction of Owen Funeral Home.

Allen was born Feb 25, 1909, in Burnham, Mo. to George F. and Stella Price Allen. He was married Aug 4, 1934, in Sapulpa to Mary Blankenship Allen. He was a 30 year resident of Sapulpa.

He was a retired minister with the Pickett Prairie Baptist Church. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Sapulpa and the Sapulpa Ministerial Alliance, He was a three term Sapulpa City Councilman and was named Citizen of the Year in 1992 by the Elks Club and Sertoma Club. The family will headquarter at 12 E. Mill.

Survivors include his wife Mary of the home, son George Allen of Sapulpa, daughters Barbara Jean Cosby of Sapulpa and Mary Louise Keith of Tulsa, brother Chester Allen of Harrisonville, Mo.; sister Gladys Young of Sapulpa, and five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Casketbearers were Otis Burris, John Rivett, Bobby Howell, Darrell Smith, Kenneth Foster and Jerry Ross. Honorary bearers were Dub Smith, Tom Freeman, Bill Hatfield, Howard Tourney, Tome Sheriff and Charles Shouse.
