Keeter School

Keeter School #117

         The Keeter School was built on land donated by Nicholas Mace.  The Keeter School was located eight miles south and 2 miles east of Temple.  According to the Comanche County Superintendent's records shows that the Keeter was organized May 21, 1902 at S.B. Ketter's home.  The school existed forty-seven years.  The school was also used as a church until Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church was built.  The school was first known as Mt. Pleasant
