COLLIER, ALGOOD, ALLGOOD
2/22/1998
David Arthur COLLIER (b. 14 Oct 1883 - d. 15 Dec 1962, CA) and Mary Ella
(Ellen) ALGOOD (b. 13 Apr 1890 - d.11 May 1960, CA) m. 22 Oct 1904 in Atoka
County, on the marriage certifice their residence was listed as Wapanucka.
Mary Ella's age was listed as 18 and in the 1910 OK census she was still
18) DA COLLIER & his mother (Sarah Lucinda Collier b. approx 1843, AL)
found in the 1910 census living in Coalgate, Coal, Oklahoma. I cannot locate
the family any earlier in the census. Other siblings are Sim A COLLIER b.
22 may 1877 d. 13 May 1964 in Broken Arrow) and Ida COLLIER b. 1891. According
to the census there are 9 more siblings.(my aunt vaguely remembers there
being an uncle John and an uncle Taylor but couldn't confirm) In 1911 Ida
m. Sam PURDUE in Coal Co. OK. I am searching for any information on Sim,
David and Ida's father or the other siblings. In 1920, Sarah Lucinda was
living with her son Sim in Seminole Co. Any information about anyone in this
family would be greatly appreciated. In the 1920 census I found a DA COLLIER
in the Oklahoma State Penitentiary and I was unable to find another DA and/or
Mary Ella anywhere in the census and I don't know how to find out if he is
the same one. One clue that he might be the same DA in the prison census
was the space between the second and third children. Bertha Bell born 8 Dec
1905, George born 1909 and then Jewell born 1925 all in Wewoka. Bertha is
my grandmother, she married Benjamin Kirk HEFLIN on 24 Apr 1924 in Wewoka
and died 2 Apr 1995 in Ft. Bragg, CA. DA and Mary Ella moved to California
and lived in Bakersfield for the rest of their lives. Both are buried there.
I am looking for confirmation that the DA Collier I found in the OK State
Pen is my ancestor> I am also looking for his fathers' name etc and his
mother's maiden name. Please contact

CAMERON, STRATINBERG
3/13/1998
CAMERON, William P.K. born 1853, Luncharty, Perthshire, Scotland, lived in
Lehigh, Oklahoma, married to Sarah E. STRATINBERG. Have Cemetery lot Deed
dated January 18, 1929 for Fairfield Cemetery in Coal County, purchased by
Sarah E. CAMERON. Need information as follows: Verification that Sarah E.
CAMERON d/ 1941 and WPK CAMERON are buried in Fairfield Cemetery, and its
location. Need land, tax, birthparents names, for either Sarah E. or WPK.
Need to know what happened to Sarah's son, John STRAITENBERG-CAMERON who
lived with them in Lehigh. Need information about an elderly female living
in the house of WPK and Sarah E. CAMERON, possibly named Emmelina. WPK and
Sarah E. raised my grandfather, George John CAMERON b 1888, Streeter, Illinois.
Need school records or any information surrounding George John CAMERON. Legend
says that Sarah E. CAMERON taught school in Lehigh for many years and was
active in the School Board. Also that WPK was a miner and died in Lehigh
coal accident. Need to know if records were kept in Lehigh of miners who
died in those mines. It is told that WPK was "indentured", which was explained
that he purchased land for other coal miners and they paid him in payments
for that land. Any information regarding such records would be helpful. Please

ROBBINS
3/28/98
I have some elusive ancestors in Coal County. In the 1900 census of Choctaw
Nation, Indian Territory I have found my great grandparents and their children
in Coalgate. In 1910 and 1920 they were in Harris and then Myrick Townships
in Johnston Co. The family name is ROBBINS and the father Wiley ROBBINS was
working as a coal miner. A man named Charles ROBBINS, that I think might
be a brother was living 3 doors from him with his family. Both say they were
born in Mississippi and their father was from Illinois and their mother was
from Alabama. I don't know if they were part Indian. My great-grandmother
clammed up and wouldn't say anything the one time I asked her that when I
was a child. I really want to find out who Wiley's (and maybe Charles') parents
are. Please contact Robbie
