WELCH
Funeral services for Mrs. Tom WELCH, age 73, were held at Baptist Mission north of here Thursday. Mrs. Welch died Tuesday morning after a weeks illness. Death was a result of injuries received in a fall at her home.
Survivors include her husband, T.J. WELCH, three sons, John WELCH and Brice WELCH of Watts, and Reece WELCH of Alexandra, La.; 3 daughters, Mrs. Maude HESS and Mrs. Lois HOLLAND of Watts and Mrs. Ethel ALDRIDGE
of Tulsa.

1940

TURNER
John R. TURNER, age 78, well known and respected citizen of this community, died early Sunday morning at his home southwest of town after an illness of a few weeks.
Mr. Turner has been a citizen of this section for a number of years and was widely known as a good man and will be greatly missed by his many friends.
The body was taken to Tulsa, his former home, where funeral services were held Monday afternoon.
Survivors are the widow, Mrs. Mary Ella TURNER, of the home; two sons, Clifford TURNER, Texarkana, Arkansas, and Arthur TURNER, Mounds City, Missouri, and a daughter, Mrs. Robert WELCH, Tulsa.

January 1940

MYERS
Our town and community mourns the death of a well known and beloved citizen, N.C. MYERS, who passed away Tuesday night at a Siloam Springs hospital.
Mr. MYERS, age 71, has been in failing health for the past year and his condition has been very serious the past week following an operation.
The funeral services were held at the Roberts Chapel Thursday afternoon at 8 o'clock and burial made in the Baptist Mission cemetery.
Our community will miss this good man who was a friend to everyone.

January 14, 1940

JONES
Our community mourns the passing of Mrs. A.W. JONES who died here Tuesday after a long illness. Mrs. JONES was born May 19, 1854 and has been a resident of this city for many years.
The funeral was held Thursday afternoon at the Roberts Funeral Chapel and burial made in the Westville cemetery.

LITTLE
Another Westville pioneer has been claimed by death with the passing of H.F. LITTLE who died at the home here Tuesday evening after a several months illness. Mr. LITTLE, who was 67 years old, has been a citizen of this city for a number of years.
The funeral will be held at the Pentecostal church Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock and burial made in the Granderville cemetery near Summers.
He is survived by his wife and four children of the immediate family.

August 1940

HAMBLIN
Dallas HAMBLIN, age 45, a lifelong citizen of this section died Monday morning at a hospital in Prairie Grove after a long illness.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Martha HAMBLIN; three sons, J.D. HAMBLIN, Albert HAMBLIN, F.L. HAMBLIN; three daughters, Mrs. Marjorie MULLIN, Jeweleen HAMBLIN, Ethel HAMBLIN; one brother, James HAMBLIN, Westville; and three sister, Mrs. Della WARRICK, Mrs. Rilda MASTERS, both of Missouri and Mrs. Alice ROBERTSON, Westville.
The funeral will be held at the Roberts Funeral Chapel here Friday afternoon at 2:30.

August 1940

BURROWS
Many are grieved by the passing of one of our highly respected pioneer citizens, Mrs. Mary BURROWS, age 73, who passed away last Thursday at the home of a son at Boynton following a long illness.
Mrs. BURROWS had made her home on a farm just west of town for several years until her health failed several months ago and she was taken to Boynton by her son.
The funeral was held at Muskogee Friday afternoon.
She is survived by two sons; Carl BURROWS of Boynton; Richard BURROWS of Houston, Texas; ten grandchildren and a large hsot of friends.

October 1, 1940

WEAVER
Mrs. Elizabeth WEAVER, age 68, wife of Robert WEAVER, well known citizen of this city, died at the home here Tuesday afternoon after a few hours illness.
Funeral services were held at the Pentecostal church Thursday afternoon and burial made in the Westville cemetery.
The deceased is survived by her husband, six children, other relatives and a large host of friends.

November 10, 1940

BILBY
Our city mourns the passing of a highly respected citizen in the death of Charles M. BILBY, age 86, who died at his home here Sunday after a several weeks illness. Mr. BILBY was born at Drakestown, N.J. and has lived in Westville for some 25 years.
The funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Roberts Funeral Chapel.
Survivors besides his wife are two sons, Russell of Kansas City, George of Eric, Okla.; and three daughters, Ethel of Duncan, Okla., Ruth of California, and Esther of Plainview, Texas; 17 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

November 13, 1940

BROWN
Funeral services for Mrs. Clara BROWN, wife of William C. BROWN, who died last Wednesday at her home near Chance were held Thursday afternoon at the New Hope church near the home.
Survivors include her husband, William C. BROWN, three sons, Marshall of the home, Ross and Russell BROWN of Tulsa; and a daughter, Jewell of Tulsa; five sisters and four brothers.
