CHAPMAN
Andrew Monroe CHAPMAN was born December 13, 1872, in Union County, Georgia.
Was united in marriage to Miss Dovie CAMPBELL March 5, 1893. To this union
was born 12 children, seven of whom survive; Mrs. CHAPMAN preceeded him in
death on April 16, 1930.
Mr. Chapman came to Adair county in 1903 making his home for the past several
years in the Chance section, was well known and respected by all who knew
him. He will be greatly missed. He departed this life February 1, 1936, after
a three weeks illness. Besides the seven children he leaves to mourn his
death six brothers, two sisters, nine grandchildren and a large host of friends.

THURMAN
Mrs. Ida THURMAN, 45 years old, was injured fatally at 3 a.m. Monday when
the automobile in which she had begun a California trip, ran off U.S. highway
62, one mile east of Muskogee.
Mrs. THURMAN's son, Carl THURMAN, of Sacramento, Calif., was driving the
car. J.C. MORRIS of Westville, accompanying Mrs. THURMAN and her son was
painfully injured and was unconscious at a Muskogee hospital for several
hours after the wreck.
Besides the son, Mrs. THURMAN is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Ethel DAVIS,
of Prairie Grove, Ark., and Mrs. Levina BARE of Westville.
The body was returned to Westville by the Roberts Funeral home, and was sent
to Laclede, Missouri, south of Kansas City, where the funeral was held Tuesday
afternoon.
Mrs. THURMAN was well known here having lived in this section the past 10
years and all were grieved by her untimely death.
