Rites Held Here Friday George E. SMITH of Mangum succumbed to a heart attack at 2 p.m. Wednesday while harvesting cotton at the Joe JENKINSON farm, Ladessa. Services were at 2:30 p.m. Friday in the Baptist church, Mangum, Rev. Harold McGLAMERY, pastor, officiating with burial in Riverside cemetery.
The son of Mr. & Mrs. Joe SMITH, George SMITH was born Sept. 17, 1906, at Eastview, Greer county. On June 12, 1936, he was married to Miss Ruth AVERY in Mangum. SMITH worked for the Oklahoma Tire and Supply Co. for three years and was employed by the Conoco service station, Mangum. He was a member of the Baptist church.
Survivors include his wife, a son Geary, a daughter Georgia, four brothers Tom and Gene, Mangum; Loyd, Galveston, Texas and Joe, Enid; two sisters Mrs. Gladys HUGHES, Mangum, and Mrs. Walter CRISP, Salinas, Calif. Wanda Nash GOODE Submitted by: Wanda Nasg GOODE

Wilson was born in Fannin Co. GA. After working in Texas for several years, he came to Oklahoma about 40 years ago and became manager of a dairy at Chickasha.
Surviving are his wife, Gaynell; two daughters, Mrs. W.F. SMITH, and Mrs. William I. STONE; a son J.A. WILSON; two sisters, Mrs. Wllen DAY and Mrs. Laura GILLIAM; a brother, T.J. WILSON and two granddaughters.

A.S.H. "Jack" BENDER, 52, a former Oklahoman, and his son, A.C. BENDER, 22, both of Chicago were killed Wednesday when their airplane crash near Channahon, ILL.
Bender grew up in OK City and was a brother George Bender and Mrs. Russell STONE. Born in Oklahoma Bender moved to Chicago some 25 years ago.

Services for Coke Travis DENNEY, 72, who died at 3:45 p.m. Thursday in a rest home here, will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Capitol Heights Baptist church. Rev. Carol CHRISTIAN, pastor, will officiate.
He had lived in Hughes county since 1902. He lived in Wetumka until 1943 when he moved to Holdenville.
Survivors include two sons; three daughters; 14 grandchildren and one sister. Burial will be in Holdenville cemetery with Hudson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Another pioneer resident of the Union City community died over the weekend, Henry Lincoln ALGER, passing away Saturday at his home one-half miles north of Union City on u.s. 81 at the age of 91 years.
The deceased was born at Taylor County, Iowa, Jan. 22, 1863 and moved to Union City from Iowa in 1890.
He is survived by four daughters and six sons: Miss Ada and Daisy of the home, Mrs. Cealy LOYALL of El Reno, Mrs. Cora NASON of Sentinel, Walter of Gravity, Iowa, Ova, Clyde and Roy of El Reno, Albert of Britton and Carl of Oklahoma City. In addition he leaves 21 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
He was a member of the El Reno I.O.O.F. lodge. Funeral rites were conducted Wednesday from the First Baptist Church here by Rev. J. W. Hodges and interment was made in the Alger Cemetery.

Services for Mrs. Alice L. DIKES, 89, who died in her home Sunday, will be at 4 p.m. today in Ritter funeral home chapel. Loyd SMITH, minister of the Northwest Church of Christ, will officiate.
Mrs. DIKES was born May 16, 1865, in Concord, Ala. She was married in 1880 to Will M. DIKES in Stephens county, Tex. She came to Lawton from Hastings in 1917.
Survivors include five sons, Tom E., Mineral Wells, Tex.; Luman and Fred, Hastings; Barney, Dardenelle, Ark., and Lowell, Lawton; and two daughters, Mrs. Eula TUCKER,. and Miss Ada DIKES, both of Lawton; and 16 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Burial will be in Highland cemetery.

Julia Ann MORGAN Rites Thursday at Presbyterian
Services for Mrs. Julia Ann MORGAN, 96, of 111 South Washington, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the First Presbyterian church with Dr. Albert E. Grigg and Rev. Lewis Hancock officiating.
Mrs. MORGAN was born Sept. 3, 1858, in Paragould, AR., and died in a local hospital on Monday, May 30.
She was married to Joseph Henry MORGAN in July 1876 in Paragould and they came to Oklahoma and filed on a farm in Roger Mills County in 1899. Mr. MORGAN preceded her in death on May 13, 1913.
Mrs. MORGAN had lived in Elk City for 40 years and was a member of the Presbyterian church.
She is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Minnie WILSON and Mrs. W.H. STANKA, Elk City, Ok; Mrs. W. W. TURPIN, Van Nuys, CA; Mrs. Gertie CLEM, Leedey, OK, and Mrs. A. J. HALLMAN, Enid, OK. Three sons, Henry Cicero MORGAN and Robert Lee, Olivehurst, Calif., and Adolphus Jesse MORGAN of Wichita Falls, Texas.
Two sisters, Mrs. Lillie SPENCE, Haiti, Mo., and Mrs. Edd EDRINGTON, Paragould, AR. One brother, J.W. CRAVEN of Illinois.
Also surviving are 51 grandchildren, 101 great grandchildren and 50 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, John and Will MORGAN.

Tragedy struck a Hominy, Oklahoma family last Sunday while they were visiting in Pauls Valley with relatives. Gary Allen, the three and a half year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. D.W. HIGHTOWER, , was burned to death and his father was critically burned in an accident at the home of Mr. and Mrs. L.L. CRAWFORD, 324 Terrace Drive, parent of Mrs. HIGHTOWER, whom the Hightowers were spending the weekend with.

Former Resident Burns To Death
Mrs. Clayton F. CRUSE, 23, former Weatherford resident, was burned to death in Oakdale, Calif., on July 12. Mrs. Cruse was fatally burned when spilled gasoline was ignited by the pilot light on a hot water heater. She died in the Oakdale hospital. Her husband, six year old daughter, and her step-father, Carl KOOS, of Chicago, were seriously burned in the accident.
Mrs. Cruse was the former Joyce Lee CLARK. She was born near Weatherford. When six years of age she moved to Chicago with her mother and step-father. Surviving her are her husband, two children; her mother and step-father and two sisters. Mr. and Mrs. Koos and their two daughters were visiting in the Cruse home in California at the time of the fatal accident.

Walter C. BOONE, 75, died in Arkansas City, Kan., Sunday morning, Oct. 16, 1955, following a heart attack which he suffered while visiting his nephews there. Funeral arrangements are pending and will be announced by the Whitlock Funeral Home of Shidler.
BOONE was born on April 14, 1880, in Polk Co, Mo. When two years of age he moved with his parents to Kansas, and when 13 years old made the run into Oklahoma with his father at the opening of the Cherokee Strip. BOONE and his two brothers entered the farming and cattle business in 1902 on a ranch north of Kaw City. In 1919 he was married to Miss Imogene DAVIS inChandler, and the couple returned to the Kaw City vicinity to make their home.
Survivors include his wife of the home in Kaw City, one daughter, Mrs. Claude JOHNSTON of San Fernando, Ca., and three sons, Noah, Forrest and Glenn all of Kaw City.

Robert Lee VEACH pioneer Greer citizen died at 7 a.m. Tuesday at his home in Mangum following a heart attack.
Services were at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the First Methodist church, Dr. E. W. MARBLE, pastor officiating. Burial was in Riverside cemetery under direction of the Greer funeral home.
VEACH was born Jan 13, 1877, in Denton County, Texas. In 1891 he came to Greer County to work as a cowboy and farmer in the Jester community. His marriage to Miss Mollie SMITH of Arlington, Texas, took place in Dec., 1906. The family moved to Mangum in 1913 and he was active as a carpenter. The city resident was a member of the First Methodist church and Masonic Lodge. As a pioneer stockman of the area he also was active in the Greer Pioneer Cowboy association.
Survivors include his wife, two sons Hubert VEACH, Dallas, and Jack VEACH, Irving, Texas.; three daughters, Mrs. Garland WILHITE, Oklahoma City; Mrs. S. S. MONTGOMERY, Irving, and Mrs. George DIETRICH, El Paso, Texas, two sisters, Mrs. Gertrude GILBREATH and Mrs. Lizzie PARKEY, Pauls Valley. Bearers were C. O. CLARK, Louis MCMILLAN, M. E. Mrs. Leota (Pug) SMITH, 37, died Thursday night in a Tulsa hospital following a year's illness. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday in the First Baptist church, Mangum, Rev. W. L. JORDAN, pastor officiating. Burial will be in Riverside cemetery under direction of the Greer funeral home.
The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jake BARKER, Mrs. SMITH was born Sept. 30, 1918, at White Flat where she graduated from high school. She attended Mangum junior college and was married to Joe SMITH of Mangum in 1939. From 1940-49 she was employed by Gladys HUGHES beauty shop in Mangum. Mr. and Mrs. SMITH left here in 1949 for Enid where he was appointed a theater manager. Since Oct., 1954, the couple lived in Drumright where Mr. SMITH managed a theater.
She is survived by her husband, a daughter Pamela Jo, 5; her parents, two brothers Nolan BARKER, Calif. and Loyd BARKER, Mangum; two sisters Mrs. Ilean WOODS, Naturata, Colo., and Mrs. Thelma BOZEMAN, Atlanta, GA. Bearers will be Darrell WELLS, Lowell HATTON, Henry LIPPARD, Dick WORTHAM, Bill SILK, Johnny SANDERS.

John Henry SEIBEL, 61, died at his home Sunday evening.
Services were held Tuesday at the McVey funeral home. Burial was at Florence, Kansas on Wednesday.
Hohn Henry Seibel was born at Marion, Kansas, on March 16, 1895. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. John H. Seibel. On September 26, 1917, he was married to Addie OLSEN of Eldorado, Kansas. To this union, four sons were born.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Earnest of Ok., J.H. Jr. of Ok., and Loyd of the US Air Force stateioned in Japan; his mother, four brothers, three sisters and seven grandchildren.

Milton HILLEY Rites Are Held On Tuesday
April 28, 1887-April 26, 1956
Final rites for Milton Barto HILLEY, retired farmer and rancher, were held Tuesday at the West Side Baptist Mission. HILLEY, an early settler, came to Western Oklahoma around 1908 and settled near Willow. In 1926 he moved to his farm near Sayre and had lived in and near Sayre since. Survivors include his mother, Mrs. S. E. HILLEY. Three daughters and seven sons. His wife and three children preceded him in death.
Interment was in the Delhi Cemetery with the Moore Funeral Home in charge.

Otho Marol COLE was born in Johnson County, Missouri, Nov. 1, 1869, and after an illness of eleven months, departed this life at his home near Luther, June 14, 1956, at the age of 87 years, 7 months and 2 days. He was the son of William and Ellen CROCKETT COLE, the latter being a first cousin of the frontiersman, Davy CROCKETT.
At an early age he moved with his family near Neodesha, Kansas, where he grew to manhood.
In 1889 at the age of 21 years, he made the run into Oklahoma staking a claim 3 1/2 miles north of Luther, residing in and around Luther the rest of his life.
He was united in marriage May 12, 1895 to Anna MILLIGAN and to this union was born four children, Cecile, Herman, Opal and Irene. His wife Anna, Herman and Irene preceeded him in death.
He became a member of the Christian Church in early manhood, and later served a number of years as a member of the Church board, helping to plan and build the present Luther Christian Church.
In eary days he drove oxen to break land in Oklahoma. He later was engaged in farming, cattle buying, school teaching and was associated with the Luther State bank for 20 years. During World War I he bought and sold horses and mules to be shipped overseas. Following the War he began dealing in oil and gas leases and royalties, and was active in this business until the time of his death.
He was always interested and active in the development and progress of the community. He especially loved little children and was never too busy for them. He had many friends all over Oklahoma and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Survivors are, two daughters,' Mrs. Cecile LOVELL, and Mrs. Opal CANADA, of Luther; five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, thre nieces and three nephews, and a host of friends.

Cecile Marol COLE, daughter of Otho M. and Anna COLE, was born near Luther, Oklahoma Feb. 4, 1896, and resided in this community until the time of her death March 29, 1957 at the age of 61 years, 1 month and 25 days.
She began her education in the Arbuckle School and completed it in the Luther Public School. At the age of 12 she became a member of the First Christian Church where she was active until her illness.
She was united in marriage June 14, 1914 to Ross W. LOVELL who proceeded her in death. To this union was born two daughters, Lucille and Louise.
Survivors are the daughters, Mrs. Lucille McAllister of the home address; Mrs. Louise Couch, Hollis, Arkansas; three granddaughters, Sharon McAllister, Denise and Diane Couch; one sister, Opal Canada; nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

Mrs. Martha A. Malicoat, of Pauls Valley died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Jane MORGAN in Oklahoma City, Wednesday night. Furnal services will be 2 p.m. Thursday in the Stufflebean Funeral Home. Rev. Hale Dixon, pastor of the First Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Mt.Olivet Cemetery under the direction of Stufflebean.
She is survived by her husband, Mat Malicoat of Pauls Valley; two sons, Ray and Walter of Oklahoma City; a daughter, Mary Jane MORGAN; three brothers, Sam ASHBURN of Tn, Everett ASHBURN of Ca., and Bethel ASHBURN of Amarrillo, Tx. and five grandchildren.

Goode Services Held Wednesday
Sidney Rowe GOODE, Greer County pioneer, died Monday after a ten-day illness. Services were at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday in the Greer chapel. Rev. Loren Heaton, pastor of the First Methodist church, in charge. Burial was in Riverside cemetery under direction of the Greer funeral home.
The son of Mr. and Mrs. John William GOODE, the county pioneer was born Oct. 22, 1870, in Bellville, Texas. In 1896 he was married to Miss Clara Francis at Bellville. Two years later the family came to Greer County where Goode filed on a homestead in the Brinkman community. The Brinkman resident lived on the homestead for the next 59 years. His wife died Dec. 18, 1932.
Survivors are three sons J. W. and Fay GOODE, Mangum, and S. R. GOODE Jr., Ft Wayne, Ind; two daughters Mrs. Clara PHILLIPS, Houston, Texas and Mrs Fannie MCREYNOLDS, Wichita, Kansas; 14 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Final rites for Mrs. Lizzie HILLEY. who died at Abilene, Texas Wednesday in the home of her granddaughter, Zettie, will be held Wednesday at Abilene at 2:30 PM. Mrs. Hilley had made her home with in the Hext Community since 1918 until a few years ago when her health failed and she moved to Abilene to live with her granddaughter. She was proceeded in death by her two sons Jim and Barto HILLEY.

Services Pending Francis A. FLANAGAN, 68, a resident of the Nowata Community for 42 years., died suddenly this morning at 9:30 am at his farm home three miles north of Nowata.
Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Helena FLANAGAN of the home; two sons: Don FLANAGAN, Ridgewood, N.J., and Basil FLANAGAN of Wichita; six daughters: Mrs. Dorothy ROSEN, Topeka, Mrs. Beatrice ETHINGTON of the home, Mrs. Valera MCCOY, Towanda, KS, Mrs. Zita DELMAS and Mrs. Martha DELMAS both of Nowata and Miss Maureen FLANAGAN of the home. Rosary Service Set Friday for Francis Flanagan
A rosary service will be held Friday at 7:30 pm in the R. W. Benjamin Chapel for Francis A. FLANAGAN who died Wednesday morning at the home North of Nowata. Requiem Mass will be in St. Catherine's Church, Saturday at 9 am. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Nowata.
Mr. FLANAGAN was born in Whitesville, NY and lived there until he came to Nowata in 1914 where he was married to Helena MCGRATH. In 1925 he established a dairy. Prior to that he was associated with an independent oil field operator. A son Ralph FLANAGAN was killed in Germany in 1945 in World War II.

YOUNGBLOOD Rites Held Tuesday
Funeral services for John Dillard YOUNGBLOOD, 86, resident of the Dewey area for the past 48 years, were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Arnold Moore Funeral Chapel at Bartlesville. He died late Sunday following an apparent heart attack at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Emmett WHITE, north of Dewey.
YOUNGBLOOD was a vertern employee of the Dewey - Portland Cement Company before his retirement 14 years ago. He was also a member of the Dewey Odd Fellows lodge.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs Arwilda Belle YOUNGBLOOD, Dewey; three daughters, Mrs WHITE of Dewey; Mrs. Ray SHRUM, Bartlesville; and Mrs Velma WILLIAMS, Nowata; a stepson, Ellis JACKSON, Dewey; a brother Edgar YOUNGBLOOD, Adair, Oklahoma; a sister Mrs George WILSON, Greenland Arkansas, 13 grandchildren; four great grandchildren and two nieces and nephews.
Interment was in the Dewey Cemetery with the Dewey Odd Fellows Lodge no. 292 directing the graveside rites.

TAYLOR, UNDERWOOD

Grady County: Chickasha Daily Express, Monday, October 28, 1957

Taylor Dies In Lindsay
William M. TAYLOR, 63 year old Grady County Farmer, died at 7:05 pm Saturday in a Lindsay Hospital from apparent self-inflicted gunshot wounds.
Deputy Sheriff Joe UNDERWOOD said Taylor had been found about 6:30 pm Saturday by a son, J.B., and His wife. The deputy said it was reported Taylor had left his home about 3 p.m. Saturday afternoon and went to the home of a son, Harold, nearby and borrowed a .22 revolver. Taylor then drove away and into a pasture a short distance from the road. The gun had apparently been held close to the right side of his head said the deputy. Powder burns covered a large area about an inch above the right ear. Deputy Underwood said Taylor left no note.
He is survived by his wife and 13 children. Funeral arrangements will be by the Brown Funeral Home of Lindsay.

Amanda Lee (CAMPBELL) LENOCHAN, WAMPLER born Jan 15, 1861 Lamar Co, TX and died Sep 3, 1957 Tuttle, Grady Co, OK. She was the youngest daughter of Lee and Ellen (Foster) Campbell.
Amanda married Tom Lenochan Feb 22, 1879 in Lamar Co, TX. They had 2 children: Victoria and Joe Lenochan. In Feb 1890 she married George Wampler at old Silver City, Grady Co, OK. Amanda and George had three sons George, Edgar and John.

Funeral Services last Sunday were held for Archie C. STANDIFER at Hazel Dell church with Rev. Bud McDaniel officiating. A double quartet consisting of Mrs. Ben CHEEK, Mrs. Calvin OVERTON, Mrs. Edward MEYERS, Misses Edith McDANIEL and Judy KIRKEGARD, Noble BARTLING, Edward MEYERS and Roy KOERNER with Mrs. H.W. BARTLING at the piano. Pallbearers were Ted CHRISTNER, Clarence CHAPPELL, Claude GILBERT, Clarence WILLIS, W.C. MARTIN and Carl WILSON.
Mr. STANDIFER passed away at 8:30 a.m. Thursday [5 Dec 1957] in the Haven of Rest Home in Pawhuska following a lengthy illness. Mr. STANDIFER was a member of the Methodist church and Masonic lodge in Minco.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Julia STANDIFER of the home address and nine sons and one daughter: Virgil of Pawhuska, Noah of Minco, Newman of Oklahoma City, S.A. of Del City, Jess of El Reno, Tom, Robert, Lloyd, Ole, and Mrs. Fannie KELLEY, all of California; 15 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; two half-sisters, Mrs. Walter PINKSTON and Mrs. George PINKSTON of El Reno, formerly of Minco; two half-brothers, O.T. PEAVLER and A.E. PEAVLER.
Interment was in Hazel Dell cemetery under direction of Johnson’s Funeral home of Pawhuska, assisted by Reynolds Funeral home of Minco.

Surviving her are her husband, Thomas M., a daughter Gloria and a son, Tommy Jr. of the home, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. L. GREEN of Claremore, four sisters, four brothers, including Wallace Green of 1113 W. 23rd Place.

Mrs. Hobbs, 74 died Saturday night in route to a local hospital here after becoming ill at her home. She was a former Wagoner resident and was a member of the Christian Church.

Services for G. L. LLOYD, of 2627 E. First St. retired Russellville, Ark, Farmer, will be held at 2 pm Tuesday in the Ninde Funeral Home chapel. Mr. Lloyd, 88, died Saturday afternoon in a Tulsa hospital after a four week illness.
He was a native of Russelville, and came to Tulsa 30 years ago. He was a member of the Church of Christ.

Services held for Mrs. Dillie ANDERSON Services for Mrs. Dillie Anderson, 60, were held Friday, December 27 in the Peavine Holiness church, with Rev. Arthur Essary officiating. Burial was in the Reese cemetery, under the direction of the Roberts Funeral home.
Mrs. Anderson, who died Wednesday, December 25 in the Stilwell Municipal hospital, was born February 10, 1897 in Linn Creek, Missouri. She was ill only a short time, having suffered a stroke following a heart ailiment.
Survivors include: Two sons, Fred, of Stilwell, and Albert, of Fowler, Ca.; four daughters, Mabel THOMAS, Myrtle YORK and Frances KETCHER, all of Stilwell, and Mrs. Ethel COOPER, of Kansas City,Missouri. Also, 36 grandchildren, two brothers and four sisters.

City Resident Died Sunday
Claud RICHARDSON, 74 year old barber, died Sunday in Norman Municipal Hospital. He had been ill for a long time.
Mr. RICHARDSON was born September 30, 1883 in Sedalia, Missouri and came to Cleveland Co. to a point east of Noble when he was 14 years of age. He had lived in the county since that time and more recently made his home in Norman.
He is survived by his wife Fairrie RICHARDSON. Funeral Rites at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Primrose Chapel. Interment at Maquire Cemetery.

Pioneer Of Stuart And Gerty
Services for Mrs. Ardell ELMS, 78, pioneer resident of Stuart, were held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Church of Christ. Mrs. ELMS, who had lived in Stuart 41 years, died Wednesday in a McAlester hospital.
She moved to Oklahoma from Altus, Arkansas in 1900 and settled at Gerty. She moved to Stuart in 1916.
Survivors include four daughters, one brother, two sisters, and 15 great grandchildren. Burial at Pryor Cemetery.

Pittsburg County: Hartshorne Sun, Wednesday, August 27, 1958

HUDSON Funeral services were Tuesday at 2 p.m. in Evans Funeral chapel, Hartshorne, for Mrs. W.K. HUDSON, who died Sunday at 5:30 p.m. in Mercy hospital, Oklahoma City. She had been in the hospital since August 6 with pneumonia. Until June of this year her health had been good but she broke her arm on June 16 and had not been well since.
  Rev. Sanford Wylie, Methodist minister, officiated, reading the 23rd and 46th Psalms, John 14 and I Corinthians 5:1-7.   His sermon text was Acts 26:29, "They cast four anchors from the stern of the ship and waited for this day." He cited the anchors of faith, gratitude, Hope and courage as helpful in the storms of our own lives, finally urging that we learn to wait, quoting the verse from Isaiah 40:31: "They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint."   He closed the sermon with the words of a poem by the Hoosier poet, James Whitcomb Riley, "She is not dead, she is just away." With Mrs. Ed Patterson at the piano, Mrs. W.P. Lerblance, Jr., Mrs. Albert Long and Mrs. Wesley Lay sang "The Old Rugged Cross" "I Come to the Garden" and "Abide With Me". Burial was in Elmwood cemetery by the grave of her husband, who died on November 29, 1936.
Pallbearers were C.A. DELIGANS, Basil NULL, Sherman FORD, Jim WILLIAMS, John BAIN and Hurley POWELL.
Orpha Dora EAGER was born near Quincy, Ill., September 8, 1865, the daughter of Boyd and Martha EAGER, She was married to W.K. HUDSON on May 15, 1884 in Kennedale, Texas.   He was a pioneer doctor in this area. The family moved to Gowen in 1904 and in 1921 they moved to No. 10 camp.
  Four children were born, two of whom survive, Mrs. Ola MERIEDETH, Oklahoma City; and Cortez HUDSON, Midwest City. Kay HUDSON, city pumper at the time of his death December 16, 1951, was killed while helping to herd cows across the highway at the city lake. A daughter, Mrs. Walter ROBERTS, died July 7, 1952. Mrs. HUDSON made her home with Mrs. MERIDETH after the death of Dr. HUDSON.
There are 11 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
Here from out of town for the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Cortez HUDSON, Mrs. MERIDETH, Mr. and Mrs. Owen TOWNSEND, Mrs. Hayden ADDINGTON and Mrs. Ralph MESSER, Oklahoma City; Mr. and Mrs. Pete GRADY, Shawnee; Mrs. and Mrs. Walter ROBERTS, Jr., Dallas, Texas.   Mrs. HUDSON was a member of the Methodist church.

Mrs. Lonnie Franklin BURNETT, 71, of Rt.1 Apache, died late Sunday at her home after an illness of about eight months. Services are schedules for 2 p.m. Tuesday in Becker Memorial chapel with Rev. Joe Gomez, pastor of the Boone Baptist church, officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Born January 4, 1888 in Corsicana, Tex., Mrs. BURNETT came to Oklahoma in 1895 and to Comanche county in 1943. She had resided here since that time.
Survivors include her husband, of the rural Apache home; five sons, William Gerald, Lonnie Odis, and Ernest Waldo, all of Elgin; Leveritt Buel, of 2124 Washington; and Levi, of Apache; two daughter, Mrs. Warren MCMAHAN, Apache Rt.1 and Mrs. Dean SALYER, 2007 C; three sisters; Mrs. Sarah ROGERS, San Bernardino Calif.; Mrs. Amy COUCH, Tufunga, Calif.; three brothers, H. E.UNDERWOOD, Sulphur; Lee O UNDERWOOD, Okmulgee, and Robert A. UNDERWOOD, Roosevelt; 22 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Mrs. BURNETT was a member of the Baptist church.

Funeral Service Held For A.S. HOLLOWAY
Funeral services for Albert Sidney HOLLOWAY were conducted Sunday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock from the First Methodist Church with Rev. Robert MAYORS, pastor officiating.
Mr. HOLLOWAY died on Saturday in Memorial Hospital in Ardmore after suffering a stroke at his home northeast of Marietta on May 14.
He was born at Mason, Tennessee on July 4, 1867 and 66 years ago at Henderson, Tennessee he was married to Miss Ella L. POLLARD. They were the parents of six children, four of whom survive.
He moved to Love County on January 11, 1920 from Sanger, Texas and had lived in this community since that time. Mr. HOLLOWAY joined the Methodist Church when 15 years old and had lived a consecrated Christian life for over 75 years. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge, having joined over 50 years ago.
He had many friends in Marietta and throughout the county who will miss him and be sorry to know of his death.
Surviviors include: his wife, Mrs. Ella L. HOLLOWAY of the home; two sons, Jess HOLLOWAY of Fort Worth, Texas and Ed HOLLOWAY of Tulsa; two daughters, Mrs. C.W. HAYNIE of Roanoke, Texas and Mrs. Harold GILLIAM of Greenville, Texas; 15 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
Interment was in Lakeview Cememtery with the Goodrich Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Casketbearers were; Sam BILLINGSLEY, H.W. GIESE, C.W. NORTHCUTT, Worth ZACHARY, John Kelly DAVIS, and Ozel COX.

Funeral services for Mrs. Lela Mae JACKSON, Hobart, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at First Methodist Church, Pastor__ officiating. Burial under direction of Gish Funeral Home, will be in Hobart Cemetery.
Mrs. Jackson, a resident of Kiowa County since 1924 died at her home here Sunday night, the result of a heart attack.
Survivors include her husband, Robert, and the following children: Ozella PARSONS, Globe, Ariz.; Hattie CAPPS, Hobart; Alton, Oklahoma City; Delbert, Granite; Estelle HARRIS, Hobart; Lewis H., Alaska; Burrell, Hobart; Calvin, Germany. Also 23 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren.

Rites Planned
Mrs. Beulah HAYNES, one of Cleveland County's first settlers, died in her home at 212 N. University Blvd., Wednesday evening.(Dec.8) She was 78.
Born in Ft. Arbuckle, Indian Territory, on Nov. 15, 1881, she made the run of '89, with her parents and settled on a farm four miles west of Norman. She married Mick Haynes, another early settler, and lived at the farm until his death. She moved to her present home two years ago. She was a member of the First Christian Church and a charter member of the New Hope Home Demonstration Club.
Services will be held at 3:30 pm Thursday in the Primrose Chapel with the Rev. T. W. Jolly of the First Christian Church officiating. Interment will be at Warren Cemetery.
Survivors include two sons, R. Lee Haynes, Maringo, Ill., and Charles W. Haynes, west of Norman; two brothers, James S. DOWNING, 825 S. Ponca Ave., and W.B. DOWNING, Brownfield, TX; and two sisters, Mrs. John L. BARBOUR, Iowa Park, TX, and Mrs. John F. ALLEN, Oklahoma City.
Bearers will be O.L. (Bud) HARRIS, Carl WALKER, Earl BOGGS, Ermil ANDERSON, Luther BROOKS, and E. F. CROWNOVER.
