Mrs. Charlie HURD return last evening from a visit to her sister's, Mrs. MOORE of Spiro.

Mr. B.W. QUAID, father of J.T. QUAID died Friday at his home in Darwin. He was 83 years old and had been a resident since 1910.
He was born in Hines Co. Mississippi in 1835 and moved to Texas in 1842. Mr. Quaid was an honorable wearer of the grey during the civil was. He married Miss Martha LISIBEL in 1860. Burial will be in Darwin Cemetery.

April 3, 1941, Thrusday

Funeral services for W.H. THOMPSON, 70, are being held at 2:00 p.m. today at the Assembly of God church, who passed away at his home Tuesday, April 1, 1941. For a number of years Mr. THOMPSON had been a leading member of the congregation.
The deceased was born March 25, 1871, at Eureka, Arkansas. In 1891 he was united in marriage to Miss Mollie Bell MUSICK, to which union ten children were born.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. W.H. THOMPSON and the following children, four boys and six girls: Jasper Thompson, of Houston, Texas; Joe and Elden, of Tulsa, and Floyd of Antlers; Mrs. Cora Lee PARKER and Mrs Evelyn BOATRIGHT, of Ft. Smith; Mrs. Norma HARRISON and Mrs. Myrtle COSSEY, of Texas City, Texas; Mrs. Nolan McCANLEY, Long View, Texas; Mrs. Helen CATHER, of Antlers.
Palbearers were Messrs HALL, COSSEY, WORKMAN, ARBROUGHT, WEATHERFORD, and BRUNER.
Funeral services were in charge of the Jones Funeral Home, Antlers, with Rev. Jim RUSSELL, officiating. Burial was made in the Clayton Cemetery.

W.H. THOMPSON was the son of Seth and Mary J. " BURNETT " THOMPSON.

December 18, 1952

R.E. (Bob) CLARK, 72, died at 4:20 a.m., December 17, 1952 in the Antlers Medical Center. He was born July 9, 1880, in  Naples, Morris County, TX. Mr. CLARK was a Methodist by faith.
He was serving as Justice of the Peace for the Town of Antlers, an elective position which he filled for several years. He also served a number of years as City Marshal of Antlers, and at one time was deputy sheriff during Sam STEPHENS' administration.
Services for R.E. CLARK were held at 2:30 p.m., Friday,  December 19, 1952 in the First Methodist Church in Antlers. The Rev. O.L. Peek, pastor, officiated, assisted by Mr. Clark's grandson, Doyle LAWLESS, of Ft. Worth, TX. Burial was in  Antlers City Cemetery.
Survivors: wife, Naarah (NEWSOM) CLARK of the home; 2 sons -- Robert "Elvis" CLARK, Sr. of Dallas,TX and Ivan CLARK of  Redbluff, CA; 5 daughters -- Leona LAWLESS of Antlers; Erma MASON of Dallas; Wilma OGILVIE of Hillsborough, CA; Mildred MILLER Of Dallas; Chrystine CHANEY of Los Angeles; one grandson of the home, Elbert Edwin, and 15 other grandchildren. 1 sister, Mrs. Edd HODGE of Cleveland, TX.
Coffey Funeral Home had charge of the arrangements.
Casket bearers were: Ross Orr, Curtis Parker, Woody Pace, David L. Stephenson, Kenneth S. Lawson, Cecil Sharp. Honorary bearers were: P.W. Hudson, C.E. Stephenson, C.E. Services for Mattie Belle THOMPSON, one of Pushmataha county's oldest residents, were conducted from the Assembly of God Church in Clayton at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, November 22, withe the pastor of the church officiating. Burial was in the Old Clayton cemetery under direction of Coffey Funeral Home.
Active pallbearers were Billy THOMPSON, Lloyd CATHER, Dillard CATHER, James CATHER, Bill DUNN, H.A. McCANDLESS and Donnie THOMPSON. Honorary bearers were Asa DENNIS, Buck DENNIS, James PROTHO, Bill BURNETT, Wharton MATHIES and Charles ALEXANDER.
Mrs. THOMPSON died at her home in Clayton early Monday morning, November 20. She was 93 years of age, having been born at Honey Grove, Texas, July 11, 1875.
She had lived in the Clayton community virtually all of her life and was a member of the Assembly of God church.
Survivors include one son, Joe E. THOMPSON, Okmulgee, six daughters, Cora PARKER, Fort Smith, Ark., Evelyn BOATRIGHT, Fort Smith; Nola McCANDLESS, Mena, Arkansas; Nora HARRISON,  Texas City, Texas; Myrtle COSSEY, Clayton, and Helen CATHER, Antlers, and three grandchildren.

April 1, 1982

Morris Elbert BURNETT, an Antlers resident, died Sunday in a Paris, Texas hospital at the age of 57. A retired state highway department employee, he was a resident of this area for 36 years and a member of the Church of Christ. survivors include his wife, Clara BURNETT, of the home in Antlers; a son Elbert Lee BURNETT, Antlers; two daughters, Sharon TIGERT, Antlers and Betty RUST, Pittsburg, Texas; two brothers, Earnest BURNETT, Perryton, Texas and Aubrey BURNETT, Haworth; two sisters, Marie JEANES, Haworth and Ruby CURRY, Dumas, Texas; six grandchildren and one great grandchild. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Antlers Church of Christ with James HAWK officiating. burial was in the Antlers City Cemetery under the direction of the Mills and Coffey Funeral Home.

Lela Whitted Services Held On Friday
Lela Ethel WHITTED, a long time Antlers resident, died in an OK City hospital March 24 at the age of 61.
A housewife, she was a member of the Holiness church.
Survivors include her husband, Joe WHITTED, Antlers and a half-brother, Clifford WYRICK, Kansas City, Kansas.
Funeral services were held at the Mills and Coffey chapel Friday wit Rev. Norman SHUMAN officiating. Burial was in the Finley cemetery under the direction of the Mills and Coffey Funeral Home.
Active pallbearers included Glen ROMINES, Jerry DUNCAN, Austin DUNCAN, Donald STANFORD, Shorty CARTER, and Mark GRAMMER.
Honorary pallbearers were Steve WEBB and Tracy JONES.

TINDELL Services Are Held Recently
Funeral services were held March 23 for Fred W. TINDELL, a long time Antlers area resident who died in a McAlester hospital March 21 at the age of 50.
TINDELL was born February 29, 1932 in the Hall community and had lived in the Antlers area all of his life. He was employed as a laborer.
Survivors include his wife, Irene of the home; two sons, Fred T. TINDELL, Cushing and Travis A. TINDELL, Agra, Oklahoma; a daughter, Birdie I BRUCE, Cushing; one brotherAlfred TINDELL, Kosoma; three sisters, Lena PIGG, Antlers, Ruth STANSBURY, Horatio, Arkansas, and Parthinia CODER, Hacienda Heights, California; five grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Services were held at the Mills and Coffey chapel with Reverend Buck YANT officiating. Burial was in the Darwin cemetery under the direction of the Mills and Coffey Funeral Home.
Active pallbearers included Samuel LEE, Donald ROSSON, Dean VIPPERMAN, James DICKINSON, George MASSEY and James HANCOCK.
