"Merchant From Oklahoma Dies in the Hospital"
After being under treatment there for the past thirty days, G. D. HOPPER,
65 years old, died at Sparks Memorial hospital last night at 9:30 o'clock
of abecess of the brain.
Mr. Hopper was a merchant of Blackgum, OK. to which place the remains
will be shipped this afternoon for interment.
He is survived by a wife and three sons. One of the sons is already here
and other members of the family will arrive today to accomany the body home.

Blytheville, Arkansas Newspaper Mrs. WISEMAN, Died April 6
Mrs. Dorothy WISEMAN, 48, wife of Odas WISEMAN, of LaBelle, Fla., died Friday
in Clawiston, Fla.
Born in Oklahoma, she formerly was a longtime Blytheville resident and was
a member of the Pentecostal Church of God.
In addition to her husband she is survived by six daughters; two sons; two
brothers; three sisters and 17 grandchildren.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in Cobb Funeral Home Chapel, the Rev.
James Boren officiating. Burial will be in Dogwood Cemetery.

BATTLES, DUNCAN, SCOTT, WEBB - Poteau, LeFlore Co., OK
Eugene Victor WEBB, Born Feb.4,1922 at Poteau,OK and died March 31,1994
at Prescott, Ar. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ardes S. Webb and
Rosa E. DUNCAN WEBB. He was also the only surviving child of nine born to
his parents. He was raised near Calhoun, Ok. He met and married Lillian Velma
BATTLES, also of that area. She passed away in 1977.
Survivors are a daughter, Lula Faye Webb SCOTT, one grandson, Jody Scott,
and three granddaughters, all of Norman, Ar. Services were on Easter Sunday,
April 3,1994 at Bluff City Cemetary, Bluff City, Ark. Father: Ardes Steven
Webb, formerly of Poteau, Ok, died Feb.23,1966 at Norman,Ark. Burial was
at Black Springs Cemetary at Black Springs, Ark. He was born at Plantersville,
Ms on Sept 16, 1893. His family moved to the Monroe, OK area when he was
a child. He married Rosa Ellen DUNCAN of Mulberry Ark and they had nine children.
Only one child survived. He was also preceded in death by his wife in 1958,
his parents Hiriam David and Rebecca Edwards Webb, his brothers; George Damon
Webb and Merchel Webb. Survivors are his son, Eugene Victor Webb of Norman,
Ark. granddaughter, Lula Faye Webb Scott of Norman, Ar. and a sister, Lula
Webb Yeakley of Los Angeles, Ca.

Mary Elizabeth Huchinson HUNT, born 1818, died 1902 in Marion Co. Arkansas.
Wife of Lewis B. HUNT, mother of Annie Eliza HUNT KEESEE.
Submitters Note: When a nearby lake washed away some graves, she was reburied
in Henryetta, Okmulgee Co.Oklahoma.

POOLE, WESTFALL, FINNEY
Zona Ruth POOLE died in Fort Smith, AR on Nov. 6, 1998 at the age of 93.
She was survived by two brothers. Oscar of Screveport, La, and Paul of Cabot,
several nieces and nephews.
Zona Poole was born on a rural free delivery route of Horatio, AR, and grew
up in several towns around in Sevier County. One school she attended was
in Locksburg, which as she described it, a wide place in the road.
Her parents were David and Mary POOLE. They had ten children. Zona was the
first to be born in Horatio. She never married and lived for many years with
her bachelor brother, Lawson POOLE. She and Lawson moved to Fort Smith in
1980 to be near their sisters, Ann WESTFALL and Louis FINNEY. Lawson died
in 1985, as have the two remaining sisters since then. The two brothers,
Paul , age 78, and Oscar, age 77, are all that remain of the 10 children.
Zona liked to write stories, may of them about her life.

Mrs. Violet Sylbia BRALY - McAlester, Pittsburg Co., OK
Mrs. Violet Sylbia Braly, 87, of Conway died Wednesday (Jan. 20, 1999)
at her home.
Born Oct. 8, 1911, in McAlester, Okla., a daughter of Fred B. and
Ivy Harkey Manville.
She was the widow of Leonard A. Braly.
Survivors are a son, David Braly, Calif.; a daughter, Barbara Burks Hanley,
N.Y.; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be 4 p.m. Friday at First Presbyterian Church. Burial
will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in McAlester, Okla., by Roller-McNutt
Funeral Home.
