OKbits FileOLD MORAL CEMETARY
                      Pottawatomie County

This cemetary was canvassed Oct 24, 1998 by Nalora Burns and Sharon Crawford.

This cemetary is well maintained. Has a gate with a sign that says:MORAL 1895. The cemetery is maintained by the Tribbey Cemetary Fund. Jim Wright of Tribbey is the caretaker, along with Bill Parker of Tecumseh.
The cemetary has only recently become maintained, for years it was covered with overgrowth. The original plot papers were burned. There are numerous unmarked stones in this graveyard, in the old section, there is an entire area that is free from even sandstone markers.

Directions: Take State Highway 9 East to 102. Take 102 south past Tribbey, after the ácurve will be a GREEN cemetary sign with an arrow. Go west on a gravel road to the top of the hill. This cemetery is approx 2 miles south of Tribbey and 2 miles North of Trousdale off of 102.

Starting in the East section and working up and down the rows from the old section to the new section in the West.

There are 8 tall homemade cement pillars, about 4 feet high and Oklahoma red dirt in color, all alike, but unmarked in this section. A local woman said that only recently had flowers shown up decorating these graves. One set of flowers while we were there is a wreath saying Grandma. Behind most of the stones is a metal funeral home marker, obliterated by time and the elements.
