John D. DAVIS Rites Friday
John David Davis Died Thursday afternoon following Two days acute
illness.
John David Davis, Marlow farmer, died at his home two miles east of Marlow
last Thursday afternoon after an acute illness of only two days. Mr Davis
had been in poor health and suffering from high blood pressure for the past
three years. He was born Nov. 11, 1869 in Jackson Co., Ala. and was 69 years,
ten months and 17 days old at the time of his death. Mr and Mrs Davis were
married at Pauls Valley in 1899 and moved to Marlow in 1925. Surviving are
his widow, Mrs. Mary Davis and eight children. The children are Nora, Lillie
and Jess, all of Marlow; Mrs. Clara Newberry of Ada; Mrs. Florence Bishop
of Oklahoma City; Mrs. Pearl Cowan of Duncan, Mrs. Fannie Hix of Tipton and
LeRoy Davis of Stockton, Ca. His four brothers are Reason Davis of Jay, Ok.;
Joe and Zack Davis both of Pauls Valley, and Bill Davis of McFarland, Ca.
He has 23 grandchildren living. Funeral services in charge of the Steele
Funeral Home were held Friday afternoon from the Marlow Pentecostal Church
of God with the pastor, Rev. L. L. Huess conducting them. Pallbearers were
T. P. Hervey, Jr; Frank Newberry, Cecil Hanks, Bill Hanks, James Cowan and
Ray McKinzie. Burial was in the Marlow cemetery.

Death calls Mrs. Mary MALICOAT DAVIS
Mrs. Mary Davis died at her home east of Marlow Friday, January 15 after
three years of illness. She was born near Franklin, Ky. March 29, 1880, and
was past 62 years old at time of her death. She was married to John David
Davis in Pauls Valley in 1899. The couple moved to Marlow from Pauls Valley
17 years ago. They were the parents of two sons and six daughters who survive,
Mr. Davis died here several years ago. She is survived by 30 grandchildren
and 2 great grandchildren. Sons are Jessie Davis of Marlow and Lee Davis
of Tracy, Ca., the daughters are Mrs. Clara Newberry of Allen, Mrs. Florence
Bishop of Oklahoma City, Mrs. Pearl Cowan of Duncan, Miss Nora Davis of the
home address, Mrs. Lillie McGee and Mrs Fannie Hix both of Fredrick. Two
brothers, George Malicoat of Roff, and Mat Malicoat of Gertie, Ok. and two
sisters, Mrs. Joe Davis and Mrs. B.W. Beddo , also survive. Funeral services
were held Sunday afternoon at the Pentecostal Church of God conducted by
J. E. Madewll of Marlow. Burial was in Marlow cemetery. The Steele Funeral
Home was in charge of arrangements.
Two brothers attended, George & Mat Malicoat, along with her brother
in law, B. W. Beddo ( husband of Dolly Mae Malicoat).

V. W. WILSON, 64, Farmer Is Dead
Marlow- V. W. WILSON 64, farmer living Northeast of Marlow, died here
Wednesday Afternoon of a stroke of paralysis. He had lived in this section
a number of years.
Born March 10, 1883, in Paris, Tex., WILSON is survived by two sons.,
J. C. of Rush Springs, Carl of Marlow and one brother, Charley
WILSON.
The funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Friday in the Bailey Church with
Sewell JONES, pastor of the Marlow Church of Christ officiating. Burial
will be in the Bailey Cemetery wit Callaway Smith Funeral Home in charge.

EVANS
Otie Virginia EVANS, 86, Marlow, died Sunday, Sept. 24, 1989, In a
Duncan hospital. Service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Callaway-Smith-Cobb
Funeral Chapel in Marlow with Bro. Harold Almon officiating. Burial will
be in the Marlow Cemetery.
Mrs. EVANS was born Oct. 11, 1902, in Stuart. She lived in the Bailey
Community prior to moving to Marlow, where she lived for 38 years. She was
a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ.
She married Sam E. EVANS, April 13, 1921, in Ardmore. He died Sept.
23, 1980.
Survivors include a son, George EVANS, a daughter, Mrs. Edna
WILSON ; six grandchildren, 15 great-grand- children anf five
great-great-grand-children.
Bearers will be George EVANS, Kenny MORRIS, Cotton TODD,
Wesley EVANS, Floid MORRIS, and Ernest MILLER.

WILSON
Marlow resident, Carl Calvin WILSON, 75 died at 7:30 a.m., Wed..,Aug.
11, 1993, at a Duncan Hospital.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sat., Aug. 14, In the Callaway-Smith-Cobb
Chapel with the Rev. David WOODS officiating. Burial was in Marlow
Cemetery.
Born Oct. 5, 1917, In Maybelle, he had lived in Marlow for most of his life
and was a retired machinist. He attended Bailey schools and was a member
of the Missionary Baptist Church in Bailey.
WILSON was married on June 16, 1941,in Duncan to the former Edna M.
EVANS.
He is preceded in death by a son, George WILSON.
Survivors in addition to his wife, Edna, of the home include, two daughters,
Carleta LATHAM of and Pricilla LANE; and five granchildren,
Kevin, Scott, Terry, Chris and Michelle.

RENFROW
Martha Emiline RENFROW died Saturday, June 14, 1997, at a Marlow nursing
home. She was 95.
Graveside services was held Monday, June 16 at the Marlow Cemetery.
She was born on Oct. 14, 1901, in Eastland, Texas to William Randolph
and Amanda (MARSHALL) RAY. On April 30, 1925, she was
married to Clayton D. ACORD in Duncan. He died on June 29, 1942.
Then, on Oct. 4, 1949, she was married to Judson A. RENFROW in
Gainesville, Texas. He died on Oct. 19, 1982.

BYRD
Mr. BYRD died Monday June 16, 1997 in an Oklahoma City hospital. He
was 58.
Born 1938 to Hoy and Guss RENFROW BYRD in Marlow. On Dec. 31, 1959,
he was married to Barbara STOGSDILL in Marlow.
CALLAWAY
Velda "Mote Mote" (Britt) CALLAWAY, died Sat. June 14, 1997 at Anadarko.
She was 76. She was born May 18, 1921 in Shawnee, to Frank and Della WOODY
BRITT. She was married on Sept. 13, 1945 to Marion J.
CALLAWAY.
Mrs. CALLAWAY was preceded in death by her husband, Marion; her parents;
an infant daughter, Glenda Sue CALLAWAY; two brothers, Henry BRITT
and Bob BRITT; and three sisters, Flossie NIX, Mae
ANDERSON, and Lois .HANIFIN.
SNIDER
Longtime resident, Lenora (HOWARD) JONES SNIDER, 67, of Duncan,
died Thursday June 12. She was born Feb. 21, 1930, in Duncan to John Oscar
and Sarah Frances (DILLON) HOWARD.
