Death Of Mrs. E. M. Higgins
The wife of E.M. Higgins, agent at the Rock Island station here, died
last Friday night at eleven o'clock.
Mrs. Higgins had been sick for several days. About two weeks ago she
took suddenly ill at the Opera House while attending a show there and
went home. She gradually grew worse and finally her mother was summoned
to the bedside in hopes she could nurse her daughter back to health.
Every thing that was possible was done for her but all to no avail.
Besides her husband, Mrs. Higgins leaves five children, the youngest one
an infant about six weeks old. Mrs. Higgins was a woman of an
exceptionally kind dispostion a devoted wife and mother, and one whom
all her neighbors loved. Any one with whom she came in contact was her
admirer ever afterwards and she leaves a host of friends who will grieve
with the husband and relatives over her untimely death. Funeral
services conducted at the family residence, 710 North Carolina avenue
Monday afternoon at 4:45 Rev. J.S. Lamar, pastor of the M.E. Church
having charge of the services.
