January 10, 1928

E.W. HAYT returned to his home in Barlesville today following a ten day visit with his sister, Mrs. F.A. COUNTERMAN and Mr. Counterman.

Notice Odd Fellows
On account of the funeral of J.D. MORRIS, all members of the lodge are requested to meet at the lodge room Wednesday at one o'clock in the afternoon.
The funeral services will be held at 3 o'clock in the residence of the deceased brother at 601 East Division street.

LAND - WHITTLE
Announcement is made of the marriage of Miss Hazel Land to Mr. Arles Whittle, which took place Saturday night at 8 o'clock in Okemah, a justice of the peace officiating. The young couple were attended by Miss Loretta THOMPSON.
Mr. and Mrs. Whittle left Sunday morning for Granger, Texas, to spend two weeks, returning here to make their home.

Body Sent To Ardmore
The body of Mrs. Jane Elizabeth PARKINSON, age 56, who passed away Saturday at 3:30 p.m. was sent to Ardmore Monday for burial by the Henryetta Undertaking company.
Mrs. Parkinson had been visiting in the home of her son, Barney Parkinson, 411 North Eleventh, when taken ill. Four sons including the one here, and two daughters survive.

John B. CARMICHAEL celebrated his sixth birthday Monday afternoon from 3 to 5:30, when is mother, Mrs. J.G. CARMICHAEL entertained with an attractive children's party. in her home, 911 W. Gentry.

J.D. MORRIS Died At His Home Today
J.D. Morris sixty-two years of age departed this life at an early hour this morning at his home, 601 East Division street.
The funeral will be held at the family residence Wednesday(sic) at 3 o'clock in the afternoon. Rev. W.R. GIBBLE will conduct the church service.
Interment will be at West Lawn cemetery under the auspices of the Odd Fellows, of which lodge he was a member.
The deceased has lived in Henryetta for many years and haves several grown-up children to mourn his death.

Hens Prepare For Boynton Tonight
A light workout last night was the final touch Coach Ernest WILLIAMSON gave his caging squad in preparation for its game with Boynton high school at the high school gym tonight beginning at 7:30 o'clock.
The tenative lineup of the Hens tonight is Captain Don KUHN; Jimmy LARUE, forwards; ALLEN, center, and LAMB and LEWIS, guards.

Death Of Child
George Thomas Potter, 6 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Vince POTTER, 612 East Trudgion, died this morning at 2 o'clock following several days illness.
Funeral services were held this afternoon at 4 o'clock in the chapel of the Henryetta Undertaiking company, with the Rev. G.H. HARMON, pastor of the Nazarene church in charge.
Burial was in West Lawn cemetery.

Funeral services for Baby SMITH, infant of Mr. and Mrs. Mose SMITH of Bryant, were held Monday afternoon at 3 o'clock, with buriel(sic) in the Salem cemetery, under the direction of the Henryetta Undertaking company.

J.R. HOPPER Dies at Dewar - Rites Sunday
Death came at 3 o'clock Friday afternoon to J.R. Hopper, about 65 at his home in Dewar following a short illness.
Mr. Hopper, a longtime resident of Dewar, operated a grocery store.
Funeral services will be held at 3 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the Methodist Church at Dewar with the Rev. A.R. Garrett, pastor, officiating. Burial will be Westlawn Cemetery, with the Buchanan Funeral Home in charge.
Mr. Hopper is survived by the widow and four sons, the latter being Willliam of Firebaugh, Cal. Frank of Amarillo, Tex, and George and Olander of Dewar.

William H. DITZLER
Henryetta
--Funeral services for William H. Ditzler, 62, who died February 27 in Niles, Michigan will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. in the Shurden Chapel.
Interment will be in the Westlawn cemetery under the direction of the Shurden Funeral Home.
Ditzler was born February 14, 1911 in Weleetka.
Survivors include two brothers, Clifford C. and Alfred . (Last line of text unreadable)

Viola BOWDLER
Henryetta
--Funeral services have been scheduled for 2:30 p.m. today in the First Baptist Church for Viola Bowdler, 77, who died in an Okmulgee Hospital Tuesday.
Rev. Don Clark will officiate with interment in the Westlawn cemetery under the direction of the Shurden Funeral Home.
She was born September 16, 1896 in Tennessee.
Survivors include her husband Thomas Jefferson Bowdler of the home, five sons, H.W., Thomas Jr., John , Dan , Anthony ; eight daughters, Mildred Jessie and Margaret , Mrs. Murphy, , Viola, Betty ,Vera , Mildred ; 45 grandchildren and 50 great grandchildren.

Anis COTTON
Funeral services for Mrs. Anis Cotton will be Friday at 3 p.m. at the Hudson Funeral Home CHapel in Holdenville with Rev. Euel Bowen officiating. Burial will be at the Holdenville Cemetery under the direction of the Hudson(?) Funeral Home
Mrs. Cotton died at her home in Henryetta Wednesday, She was 82.
Mrs. Cotton came to Indian Terrritory in 1904 and lived in Holdenville until the late 1940's when she moved to Henryetta. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her husband, the late Robert L. Cotton who died December 7, 1949.
Survivors include one son, Clyde ; one brother, C.C. Johnston, of Oildale, California, one grand daughter and three greatgrandchildren.

Georgia (Juliet?) DICK (The title was hard to read)
Mrs. Georgia (Juliet?) Dick, 73 year old resident on Rt. 3 Box 120, Henryetta, died February 23 in an Oklahoma City Hospital. She was born February 14, 1900 in Falls County, Texas. Her parents Soloman and Georgia BROADUS moved to the Indian Territory in 1902. They settled near Pleasant Hill but after moved near Hoffman. Funeral service is scheduled for Saturday ?:00 p.m. at Union Baptist Church, Grayson, with The Rev. G.W. Dorsey, Pastor, officiating.
Interment will be in Grayson Cemetery with Brown's Victory Funeral Home in charge.
Survivors include one sister, Mrs. Augusta WHITE , one brother, Andrew Broadus
Pallbearers will be Furute BOLDEN, Felix TAYLOR, Oliver WILLIAM, Hobart McCLELLAN, Ruben CLINTSCALE, and Earl TOMPKINS.

Clayton THOMAS
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thurs. at the Shurden Chapel for Clayton THOMAS who died Mon. afternoon at his home at the age of 75. (2 Sep 1974)
He was born Sept. 8th, 1898 in Marion, Indiana. Rev. James Daniel will officiate at the services. Burial will be in Westlawn Cemetery under the directions of Shurden Funeral Home.
Thomas was a retired Pittsburgh Plate Glass worker, having retired in 1964 after 35 years of service.
He is survived by his wife Bertha THOMAS of the home, north of Henryetta, 3 sons, J. C. and Don THOMAS both of Henryetta and Gene THOMAS of Tulsa, 2 daughters, Lois GATEWOOD, Tulsa and Margaret JONES, Bixby, one brother, Rev. Harley THOMAS, Anderson, Indiana, 2 sisters, Mrs. Rodney BURNES, Ft. Smith, Mrs. Lottie MITCHELL, Anderson, Ind., twelve grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. (1)

Funeral Notice We announce with deep sorrow the Death of Mr. Bert HOPPER Which occurred on the 25th day of March 1930.
Mr. Hopper leaves a father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Hopper and four brothers William, George, Frank, and Lander Hopper.
Funeral services will be held at the Methodist Church, Dewar, Okla. on Saturday, March 29, at 2 o'clock p.m.
