Sarah Becker

FAIRVIEW - Services for Sarah Becker, 93, who died Wednesday evening in a Fairview nursing home, was at 2 p.m. today in the Mennonite Brethren Church at Fairview. The Rev. Charles Priddy and the Rev J.J. Karber officated. Burial was in the South Mennonite Brethren Cemetery, with the Fairview Funeral Home, Fairview, in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include one son, Abraham J. Becker, Wichita, Kan; two daughters, Maria Jorgenson, Manhattan, Kan, and Violet Ware, Cassville, Mo; and seven granchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernhard, in 1944, one step -daughter and one step -son.

Memorials may be made to Mennonite Missions with funeral home serving as custodian.

Henry E. Becker

BROKEN ARROW - The funeral for Hnery E. Becker, 87,a former resident of Enid who died Dec 22 at Browken Arrow, was held Dec. 24 at the Christian Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Jim Gaylor officiated. Burial was in Park Grove Cemetery.

He was born Sept. 5, 1900, in Marion County, Kan, and on April 8, 1920, married Bertha Smith in Goltry. They lived in Kansas where he farmed, moving to Goltry and Enid area in 1944. He worked for Bass Construction and then for Pillsbury Flour Co. as a night watchman for 25 years. They moved to Broken Arrow in 1980. She died in 1982.

Survivors include a daughter, Lois Taylor of Broken Arrow; two sons, Ed of Riverton, Wyo; and Elmer of Houston, Texas; two brothers, Alvin and Art, both of Enid; two sisters, Irene Johnson of Enid and Violet Wayman of Goltry; 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter, a grandson, two brothers and two sisters.
